Milan looked hurried for the first time all year. He'll catch up.

Win or lose imo that was exactly what this team needed.

It was interesting to see the talent separation on ISU’s roster a bit yesterday too (talent as of right now, not potential). Tamin, Gilbert, BRE, and King player some grown ass man basketball. Things looked really fast for the freshmen. I was surprised that Watson hardly even got minutes. I won’t kill CJones cus his defense was great.

I’m amazed by how good Tamin is. If he was a few inches taller he’d be on the Halliburton trajectory. We all forget at one point before his injury in high school he was a borderline 5*

This game will likely suit Milan more. It was good for him to feel that length and athleticism though because he'll see a lot of it in conference. Seeing just how good Tamin/Keshon are getting to the rim is going to help earn a lot of open looks for Jones/Milan. I'm confident they'll be able knock those down regularly.

You saw the team adjusting to new level of play steadily through the game. You can tell VCU is a def first team like us, I think they will make some waves before the end of the year and in the tourney - as they mature.

I was amazed at VCU length, team struggled against that early.

I don't think our 3pt def was terrible but they were on fire. They hit some key 3's just as we made runs but didn't see our team hang their head at all. I'll take grit and tenacity over potential hot 3 shooting every day.

For a FUN comparison - look how a soft Hok team did against an athletic/long Sooner defense.
