Watched a few minutes of the Iowa game and saw them run more offensive sets in those few minutes than ISU runs an entire game.

Our offense doesn’t do anything to get someone open for a shot for example.

MM has the most beautiful and unstoppable post up fadeaway (like Bird or Dirk)…. but do we ever run anything to post him up and let him dominate? No.

Like someone else mentioned…. maybe we need to run the offense through MM? Post him up…. get him the ball and he can back guys down and hit that fadeaway, or dish it to a cutting Lipsey or Gilbert, etc.

I don’t get paid enough to know what the answer is, but I know enough to see we don’t run anything to get guys shots…. or anything. It’s just passing it around and then someone going one on three trying to get fouled.

And boy do I miss the old days of fast break ISU basketball with dunks and alley oops etc. Those are ancient history. We never get out and run anymore. Very boring honestly.

Teams fear Iowa in March.

Hopefully Omaha figures things out. Be nice to have that 10 point per game 4 or 5.
He has the tools to do it.
I’ve seen some variation of this post like five times tonight. Figure what out? Figure out how to get off the bench? His problems right now start and end with our coach being the only coach in America that doesn’t want the highest ranked recruit in program history to actually play

From the 2 game I’ve watched Iowa this year, they would actually be better if they slowed it down and ran half court offense with Krikke (sp?). He’s been pretty great for them but the minute they go uptempo he’s a non factor and the live or die with Perkins play.

Then watch Iowa.

I don't recall this slamma jamma era of ISU basketball but sounds fun until they have to defend or get guarded.

I am very sorry you never got to see Melvin Ejim, Jameel McKay, Abdel Nader or Deonte Burton play. It was fun to watch.

The offense seems pretty pointless. Lots of movement but with no real purpose. On many occasions all the movement creates favorable mismatches but we immediately pass the ball out of them. Few screens to give people space. It’s almost like they are told to just run and pass and something will magically happen.

Is the guy saying someone doesn't understand stats the same guy who is making grand proclamations on a sample size of 1-2 games?

"Ok Siri, what's irony?"
Who is this Oscar the burner account for? They've never even posted in a game thread before yesterday as far as I can tell. Any of the usual Eeyores get the banhammer lately?

I just don't think much can be taken out of these games. Tj type of team isn't going to be able to run half court offense efficiently at thanksgiving. We might not have enough outside shooting, but it's hard to tell. Guys are still trying to figure it out.

I really think this, or any game until conference starts means very little.

I think if you catch a team killin it from the three point line like they were the first half you're just screwed. It happens so just move on. It's one frickin game ffs.

As a side note to this…. not sure if anyone remembers or not…. but on one of our possessions in the 2nd half, MM passed it out to C Jones who was about 25 feet from the basket, and immediately MM posted up his much shorter defender probably 8-10 feet from the basket and asked for the ball right back. But instead C Jones launched a horrible contested 25 foot three and barely struck iron. I about threw the remote through the TV. I don’t remember what TJ did, but he probably should have benched him the rest of the game for that crap.

Hopefully this week has been good for the coaches to find whst to work through.

The ball doesn't stick per say but there looks like too much dribbling. That can actually be more taxing for energy.
