I'm gonna find that hard to watch.I'd like to see BYU beating OSU, but not at the expense of allowing an OU/UT final championship game. Ick
I pretty much just assume brand names will get the benefit of the doubt. You know, this discussion (particularly about an undefeated FSU maybe not getting in) is why I hate hate HATE the whole playoff committee setup. Anytime you give the power to decide playoff qualifiers to a group of humans, you end up with human biases (conscious or unconscious) coming into play. The committee has proven over and over again that they have no scruples about changing their positions about what’s most important from year to year, depending on which team might benefit more.
“Not having that 13th CCG data point is too important” becomes “Finishing second in an SEC division just proves that team is stronger than this other CCG champion.” “The eye test” or “we think Team A would beat Team B on a neutral field” is nothing but imaginary standards. And don’t get me started on how the committee can manipulate the early CFP rankings so it helps them get to the final four they want.
Now, to be fair, in most years the last couple of weeks have just seemed to work out, with the right teams winning when they needed to so as a generally accepted Best Four made the playoffs. It’d just be so perfect if now, in the final 4-team playoff year, we ended up with absolute chaos and seven or eight teams with valid claims for those four spots … then we’ll see what a “great job” this human committee is gonna come up with.
I am not holding my breath for much wisdom.
You sure?Way to fail, Cowboys. This is not what you do what opportunity.
The Big 12 tried to rig the rules for them at OU's expense and they still screw it up...Way to fail, Cowboys. This is not what you do what opportunity.
It's almost like they spent 100% of their preparation and energy on Bedlam.OSU is so strange. The last few weeks looking really worn out. (OK not oh)
