This is only 3 years old.

You will see changes soon. Maybe not in this sense, but changes will come.

It’s the Wild West now.

And I’m not suggesting a school would go after the money. That would be absurd.

I’m suggesting it would be be across the board as part of the Transfer Portal/NIL.

Money makes the world go ‘round.
Don't hold your breath.

A per school cap of $x in NIL $ in aggregate per season. Same cap for all D1 programs? Alabama capped at same $10 million as ISU?

I imagine Kohl will announce eventually. I think it’s pretty clear that Rocco is going to start here the rest of his career
Nah, I think he'll try to beat him out next year. If he doesn't he'll have 3 more years of eligibility to transfer with.

Important to remember he redshirted this year and this is a wash for his eligibility. 4 more years

Be nice, that way we can shirt the SEP kid and have a backup with some time in the system at least.

That’s essentially a non-compete clause, which would only exist if they had a contract with the school. Until they’re actually employees with contracts that isn’t going to work.

But there is a contract with the NIL deals. So those could be written with penalties for breaking them.

The K-State QB situation is like the NFL salary cap problems for players, only with NIL.

They don't have enough NIL to keep everyone happy so they allocate the resources to pay the max to the younger stud, and hope their cheap backup is good enough if the stud gets hurt. The old starter is now a free agent.

He's 1 injury away from being thrust into a big spot. Lets hope that doesn't happen. Rocco has definitely earned the starting job but if JJ was better he would have beat him out. Helps that his dad is an ISU grad but history has shown the ISU QB position is pretty fluid so he will get his chance either an unfortunate injury or lack of production from the position forces a change. Rocco has far exceeded expectations but if JJ can keep pushing him its a good thing for the program to have 2 quality QB on the roster.

I’m all for JJ staying, but I think he’s good enough to go elsewhere and start right away.

With that being said, I'm very happy with Becht as our QB.
LOL. Well played. Seriously though, I'm not totally sold on Becht yet. It may be due to the OC having training wheels on him most of the year and not being able to see totally what he is capable of. However, there was no question Brock Purdy was the guy after his Freshman year based on his performance. With Becht I get game manager vibes. He has definitely gotten better since game 1 no question. Can't wait to see how much he improves going into spring.

Has to suck for Kohl, legacy player wanted to be a Cyclones, could have gone to a lot of places, would have been the next in line until the gambling thing.
