Like the song. Music video weirds me out since they are brother and sister.

Certainly not this video shot in an afternoon on a Sony HandyCam. Did you see that post-production editing? Someone made the most of their new software. Too bad they blew their budget on scooter rentals.

Great song but I struggle labeling Blur a one hit wonder. I'd think those are bands that have one hit and then disappear and do nothing else. Blur may not have had as huge a radio presence in mainstream America with their other stuff, but they're a pretty acclaimed band that had a lot of hits on the UK charts and a diehard following. JMO.

They weren't even a one hit wonder here as "Song 2" (arguably) wasn't even their biggest hit in the US. "There's No Other Way" charted on the US top 100 (1991), charted higher on the alt charts, and received fairly significant radio play. I think those that are saying "Song 2" aren't either old enough, weren't into that music (yet), or just don't remember. Personally I prefer the latter to the former.

Interestingly, "Song 2" didn't even crack US Billboard Hot 100. Did reach #6 on Billboard Alternative and #25 on Mainstream Rock.

"There's No Other Way" (#82, 1991) and "Girls and Boys" (#59, 1994) did.

Gahhh...didn't read far enough. You beat me to the punch.

I thought this group was going to hit it big when this song came out but they literally broke up the band after 1 album. VH1 has this song ranked #11 on their 1 hit wonders of the 90's. Pretty good list of songs on there: VH1’s 40 Greatest One-Hit Wonders of the ’90s | (toponehitwonders.com)

Another 1 hit wonder from the 90's:

Would consider Creed a 1 hit wonder. Scott Stapp being a huge DB basically wrecked any momentum they had once they hit it big

Oasis is technically a "one-hit wonder" if you only look at the U.S. charts.

Meanwhile Blur and Oasis were two of the biggest bands of the 90s in Europe.

I don't think you qualify just because you initially failed to penetrate the U.S. market.

They did well on the alternative charts in the US

Tarkio Road

They didn't have too many but they were good and not really just one hit. Obviously best known for One Toke. But I listened to them a lot.

As a massive fan of Blur and Britpop I love the OP for mentioning them at all but super defensive at the one hit wonder label. It is cool to see some young Gorillaz fans realize Damon Albarn also fronted a rock band and many of them like it.

IMHO Blur has a good 30-40 great songs and even the new album is pretty good. Not for everybody (unapologetically British) but an incredible band that I think a lot of fans of British 60s rock would like if they gave a chance and did a deep dive.

For whatever reason we only got Oasis and Elastica (before they both burnt themselves out) here in the US as mainstream but Stone Roses, Blur, Pulp and a few others were so great. For whatever reason I connected with it way more than grunge that happened simultaneously.

Silverchair as a one-hit wonder? I don't disagree, but it makes me sad. :(

"Straight Lines" got radio play in like 2007 or 8, I swear! Not sure it charted though...
I owned Frogstomp, but I can't remember another song from that album. Lol!
