On paper we should win easily, its a good matchup statistically. But I'm concerned with the first road game in an almost empty gym affecting our energy level. This is a game we will dominate if we are engaged and active, not just in terms of TOs, but also in rebounding - DePaul is a bad rebounding team and we've been pretty good. I'd like to see us dominate the offensive glass as a focus in this game
If we hit 65%+ of our free throws, I'll raise a 2-fingered glass of scotch. To myself.

I believe that Prairie View A&M is actually a better team than DePaul
I think he is saying that those two Big 12 games are the only games Iowa State is more likely to win than Iowa State is projected to win at DePaul.
Not necessarily saying those two games are the only two games in the Big 12 Iowa State is favored at all to win.

Just so I'm clear, you are saying Torvik gives us a greater than 81% chance to win those games you listed, not those are the only games left we are favored to win, correct?
Yep. The cupcakes are all in the 90%+ range.
We're an 82% likely to win at home against the Pokes and 'Neers.
Everybody else is <81% win expectation for the Cyclones.

Torvik has a 20-11 (9-9) record projected right now.
That translates to something in the 7-8-9-10 range in the tournament.
Can't get excited for the team until conference. These teams suck it has shown that it doesn't matter if we beat them by 30 pts because the team can't perform against someone with a heartbeat. If we average double digits point wins until conference we are frauds until we beat a decent team.
This made me wonder -- Aguirre left in 1981 and was the first overall draft pick that year.

Lose to DePaul, then that becomes a #9 seed.
Lose to DePaul and Iowa, and down to a #10 seed with the third-to-last bye ahead of Miami and Arkansas. This is all assuming the Big 12 slate ends up at 9-9, as well, which isn't guaranteed.
