The SEC gets credit for playing D and their title game is routinely in the 50s, 60s, 70s. Their D is actually worse. It’s 35-14 before half, I know it’s a stupid trope but these massive games reinforce that perception.

It’s more of a conference perception than a specific team. For example the big ten had horrible offenses, that doesn’t mean OSU hasn’t had borderline unstoppable onesThat always drove me nuts. ISU was regularly holding BXII opponents 10-15 pts under their average, but "didn't play defense"![]()
Florida State wins, they're in.
I want FSU to Win
I want Bama to win
Texas to win (gross, I know)
Because then you'd have
1) Washington
2) Texas
3) Michigan
4) Florida State
Now, it won't happen but an undefeated ACC team + the team that beat Alabama in Bama over a 1 loss SEC champion and without Georgia...
GIVE ME THE CHAOS I BEG OF YOU.
I like Texas' schedule too! OOC, they played three FBS Bowl Teams (Rice, Wyoming and @ Alabama). The Big Xii teams are good too, especially that win @ Iowa State!Computers like Texas schedule even if media spreads a narrative.
I can’t see a scenario where they are not the best one loss team logically or even just eye test.
They would bully Oregon more than Washington did.
If another one loss team gets in over them their a-hole fans will be right to blame the big 12 but really it’s media treatment of b12.
Agree. That's the problem. ISU was giving up 20 pts per game, but gets lumped in with the ****** defenses. It’s more of a conference perception than a specific team. For example the big ten had horrible offenses, that doesn’t mean OSU hasn’t had borderline unstoppable ones
Its going to 12 next year. These long discussions about who should get in really highlight why this needs to go to 8 teams. The committee or the computers can debate this forever, or they could, you know....play games to decide it. At a minimum, the conference champs of the P5 (P4?) need to be in.
I've been in the shop for the last three hours. 35 points for Texas already? Geez.
Exactly. This won’t be a problem going forward because you have two ways to get in. Win your conference, which you fully control OR at large which there will be several spots up for grabs. All the more reason we’re moving to a 12 team playoff
Yes and No -The SEC gets credit for playing D and their title game is routinely in the 50s, 60s, 70s. Their D is actually worse.
Is that settled? I knew it was up for strong consideration but I didn't know it was official. That's awesome. Its going to 12 next year.

The Big Ten signed the big contract and all of a sudden its fans morphed into SEC fans.FSU isn’t OSU and sadly that matters. Again they aren’t the same team, March Madness changes seeding based on injuries too, the committee decides to put “the four best teams in” in FSU’s case they aren’t a top team without their QB and that’s just a fact. I’m not saying I agree with it, I’m just saying it’s a possibility
Hahaha i mean the SEC as a whole is overrated but Georgia and Bama deserve every bit of hype they have gotten, bama doesn’t deserve it this year but in the past they have. The Big Ten signed the big contract and all of a sudden its fans morphed into SEC fans.

Same here. I wanted Georgia, Michigan, Washington and Florida State to all win this weekend. Four undefeated teams to send the four-team playoff out on.I’m probably in the minority with not caring much about chaos at this point. We’re already get an expanded playoff next year, so wanting chaos to create that change no longer applies.
