So, with all of the convoluted CFB Playoff talk, I am rooting for the following today:

Alabama to beat Georgia! Born and raised and still a part-time Alabama fan. This would be Alabama's 30th SEC Championship and end that infernal 29 game UGA winning streak. Roll Tide!

Florida State to beat Louisville. My brother went to FSU, and I have followed the Seminoles since BEFORE Bobby Bowden became the coach in 1976. Let's Go Seminoles!

Michigan over Iowa! I am an ISU convert and alumnus, and there is no way I am pulling for Iowa in anything for any reason. Go Blue!

If Alabama, FSU and Michigan win, I will be happy and let the CFP and Bowl assignments fall as they will.

No I get that, but I mean so you just get unlimited time to wander around as slow as you want? Almost every substitution would be a delay of game the way they did it, thought it looked super weird but also a great tactic
Need to change that up next year and give the D a limited amount of time they can match the substitution.

I don't care how much money is on the line, I'm never chest passing a football. They should make them do it from 10-15 yards instead of 5. Then they'd have to throw it like a normal person.

Wow if this is targeting it should not count for the playoff game or bowl if they get in, that’s just stupid, the whole sitting out the following game is also stupid in general but that’s idiotic

Targeting in general needs a major rework.

Never should go into next game. Most of the time it should just be a 15yd penalty.

Agreed, I’m ok with the review process for targeting, and depending on the degree getting ejected (maybe if it happens twice) but never into the next game.

15 yd penalty and move on, like the NFL does.

Keep mechanisms in place to eject/suspend players for the truly malicious hits.

Happened to us when we went to Champ game.

We also got a TD taken away because the runner high stepped going over the goal line. Because it was taunting. He took like one high step. Yet we see it every week and much more for longer and much more taunting than a guy taking one high step over the goal.

There were some horrible calls that day.

From what I’m hearing the Big12 needs better refs

Where it gets interesting is if FSU loses and Bama beats Georgia. In that case, Michigan is in, Washington is in... then what? Does the committee take both Bama and Georgia? I wouldn't be shocked.
The Committee will reward undefeated or 1 loss conference champs. I don't see a path where 2 SEC teams make it unless: Bama wins and Michigan and FSU lose.
  1. Washington is IN.
  2. Georgia, Michigan and FSU are IN if they win their Conference titles.
  3. Texas is in with a loss by either Georgia, Michigan or FSU. They have an ELITE non-con win over Bama.
  4. Bama or Michigan or Georgia? Bama because they won the SEC CCG and their single loss to Texas is better than Michigan's single loss to Iowa.
The sad thing about this season is FSU's CFP bid could come crashing down becasue Travis gets hurt in game 11 against North Alabama.

I love this thread. We are going to fix the playoff format, targeting rules and the Dr. Pepper halftime game throwing rules.
