Oklahoma is sitting at 12 right now. 11 get NY6 plus 1 G5. It does look like with the other 4 teams with same record being ahead of them is going to keep them out. But I would say they still have a chance. Hell they beat TX and if TX wins big, they could move them higher because of there win over the Champ. Unlikely but possible.

If FSU gets CFP, #10 becomes the cutoff with the 2nd ACC team automatically getting an Orange Bowl spot.

All we can do is get better and win a Big 12. Or just get to a NY6 EDIT or whatever big bowls they have after the changes.

Possibly run into the Longhorns down the road.

With the new Big12 you should be in the championship game on a pretty frequent basis, the new additions are not good and multiple teams have taken steps back

Oklahoma (3)
Iowa State (1)
Texas Tech (1)
West Virginia (1)

Both conferences have very good quarterbacks. Burrow arguably is the best or 2nd best QB in the NFL.

My point is - there's not a huge difference between the two conferences with QB's.

The point of the whole thing is morons saying big 12 defenses always have sucked. Then you argued with me to prove they have the best nfl qb rate.

We agree.

I never would have argued the sec doesn’t have top defenses among its top teams.

It doesn't quite work like that. We don't have the resources like Texas or Oklahoma. We've beaten both of them the last few years frequently and have only been to 1 Big 12 title game.

K-State and OSU will continue to be a problem, along with Kansas as long as Leipold stays. Arizona, Utah, and Colorado will be factors also and who knows how long TCU will be bad.

The Texas teams in the b12 will always have a chance to rise up just with their location. Oklahoma State should be positioned well apart of course.

You have better recruiting than everyone but TT, UCF, and to a lesser extent TCU. Colorado is a non factor, same for Arizona. Utah is iffy but beatable.

If the coaching stays consistent there is no reason you shouldn’t be there, the beauty of the new Big12 is everyone is on the same level, no team is a probable loss when looking at the schedule.

While we won't have OUUT to go through, we still have UU and AZ is looking very formidable. Who knows about CU. We'll see about KSU and OSU. Then WVU, TCU KU, TT, and BU. Not to mention BYU, UCF, ASU and UC. A lot of rich NILs still left.

That being said I like our young talent and our coaches. But Pac 12 looked like hot garbage the last couple years, now they look pretty good. This year doesn't tell us squat.

We may not have the blueblood top teams but ANY of these teams can make the playoff I think.

Not sure MSU does either, who in the **** would give Mel Tucker 100 mil?
He was coming off an 11win season with a peach bowl win, was undefeated against Michigan, had double digit 4 star recruits and billionaire donors funding part of it. I have zero problem with the contact at the time. Plus sparty ended up only paying 20mil lol

Leipold just lost his OC to Penn State. That was the strength of the team. We shall see.

It’s still 16 teams though…even more 18 in b10.

Just the math of right now 1/5 of big 12 makes the game and next year 1/8 make it. 1/9 of big ten is going to make it compared to 1/7 this year and 1/6 in Pac this year.

Going to be a lot of very good 3rd/4th out of 16/18 teams who don’t make these ccgs now that there are only 4 major ccgs and we’ve actually added more teams to the power 4 than the two that unfortunately got subtracted. Two more teams, 4 ccgs instead of 5.

The tie breakers are going to be hated and monstrous. Big 12 lucked out this year because late in season nearly half the conference could easily have been tied for second.

I don't know why so many of you remain convinced that Colorado will remain a factor. Stop slurping up the unearned media hype. CU went 4-8. They beat TCU (5-7), Nebraska (5-7), ASU (5-7), and Colorado State (3-9). None of those are impressive wins. They were really fortunate to pull off the TCU and CSU wins. They have several high profile recruits decommit now. The celebrity sideline guests have disappeared. They have a lot to prove before anyone should expect them to be a perennial contender in the league.

And even if Deion does have real success there, he'll most likely bail for an SEC job
