This has to be what it is. Anything else would thumb your nose at the criteria that you’ve spoken of for the past decade. But of course, that hasn’t stopped prior committees from making baffling choices and using selective criteria to justify their decision.

I think it's the most likely scenario now. I just can't see an undefeated FSU not make it if they win. I think Texas will be the one sweating it.

Do people honestly feel that FSU with their backup QB is one of the 4 best teams in the country.... even if they beat an average Louisville team tonight? I don't... and that's why I don't think FSU has a chance.
If FSU wins, to leave them out you are going to have to put not one but two teams with a loss in the playoffs over an undefeated P5 champion brand name school in FSU. That would be a wonderfully uncomfortable position for the committee.

Does anyone know if a G5 team gets a NY6 game no matter what, or do they have to ranked above a certain level?

SMU or Liberty will get a selection. I’d much prefer to see SMU as their losses were to P5 teams where Liberty didn’t play any P5 teams. Can’t penalize a team for scheduling hard.

Sure would... but don't put it past them. I'm pretty sure they have said in the past that they take into account injuries.
