The Big 12 gets ~$80M no matter what.

If Texas is a semifinalist, it's an extra $6M. Which, after expense allotment and divvying up the remainder among the conference schools, means maybe $300k for ISU.
I think there is a $2.85M payout separate from the $6M that covers expenses. However, if Texas does make the CFP I don't think we get a team in a NY6 bowl (*). The NY6 payout is $4M so the difference between Texas making the playoff versus a NY6 bowl is "only" an extra $2M. Split that among everybody and it is less than $150K.

(*) The Sugar Bowl is a semifinal game so I think we lose our autobid and nobody is ranked high enough but I could be wrong.

Also my favorite thing is its four “best” teams (whatever the **** that subjective garbage means) when convenient. Because if this is really who you think are the four best teams then Georgia is still in the top four sorry. You can’t be the consensus number one and then lose by three to another of the believed “best” four teams and drop all the way out.

The four “best” teams are likely Michigan, Bama, Texas and Georgia in no particular order. And I love Washington and they played a hell of a game Friday night but they had been eking by the last month until then.

With Washington I remember when they had to pull off a miracle to beat a bad ASU team at home. They got a gift when a obvious PI committed by Washington wasn't called which then led to the pick 6 they got on defense which saved their *** that week.

The whole "best 4" thing really isn't compatible with having the conference championship games mean something.

Last thing then it’s bed time. But why on Earth would the committee not have just put FSU behind Texas and Bama last week? I mean hell they also put the Horns and Tide behind Ohio State last week.

Of course you can probably pick out moments like this for every undefeated team.

Having an undefeated season takes talent and a well coached team, but it also usually takes a bit of luck as well.

Do the final two teams (conferences of those) make any additional?

Let this sink in. Iowas OC started 20 games in college only because of his father and was named honorable mention all conference only because his father made sure he was and made the NFL practice squad only as a favor to his father. spot a trend?

SEC is doo doo this year. What's their best non-conference win? Mizzou over K-State?
No, the SEC isn’t doo doo. Georgia isn’t deserving, and does not have the resume, but it’s still a good league.

ACC is crap. Sagarin splits it by divisions, and ACC is way below everyone, save for a slight advantage over the historically horrible Big Ten West. When you combine divisions, they have the overall leagues SEC, Big 12, PAC, then Big 10 all lumped closely. Then a big gap and then the ACC.

And while Texas had the best non con win, much of the Big 12 did not do well in non con.
