I don't disagree, but there are a few factors that the committee in theory can point to.

1) The NCAA suspended LSU's best defensive player leading into the game with Florida State. Or was it players? I know it was at least one, I think a DT?

2) Alabama's not the same team in Week 2 as it was now.

Now, do I think the SEC should be in ?

No.

Do I think they will be?

Yes.

I honestly think that they have a better chance of getting two in more than they are left out. Just being honest. I can see Georgia, Alabama, Washington & Michigan. I think that would be BS.

But I think that's slightly more likely than no SEC schools
Almost. Why does it not surprise us that Alabama got in? I would not have been too surprised if they left Texas out also. That would probably have been too obvious that the fix was in.

If I was Florida St. it would be really tempting to show up at the Rose Bowl ready to play and no show at the New Years 6 bowl they are assigned to. Don’t tell anyone so they can’t adjust teams to fill in that game and create as big of a spectacle as possible. What’s the worst that happens for them, the ACC doesn’t get the payout for that NY6 game?

What if they did the NFL playoffs like this? Sure this team got a good enough record and won the tie breakers to get the 7 seed, but their quarterback got injured a few weeks ago so we'll go ahead and slip the 8 seed into their spot.
The Patriots shouldn't have made the playoffs in 2001 without their top quarterback Drew Bledsoe. Sure they've won some games since then but Tom Brady hasn't looked that impressive and does anybody really think they can beat the Rams lead by MVP Kurt Warner?

It’s no joke, FSU has been doing everything they can to break up/get out of the ACC for the last year +. Now they just got left out of the playoffs because of, in part, conference affiliation. They can call it the eye test, but that really means conference affiliation and brand.
I know they are not being quiet how they feel about the ACC. What happened this morning doesn’t change any of the actual hurdles that are keeping them there.

I love this quote by the committee chairman:

“Florida State is a different team than they were through the first 11 weeks."

Let's see ... FSU was undefeated after the first 11 weeks .... Now? Still undefeated.
Even taking the argument at face value, They also wouldn't be the team they were yesterday. They were down to their third string QB yesterday, but they'd get back their #2 in time for the playoff

If I'm FSU, I start recruiting other schools to my side to conspire and bring forth the end of the NCAA.
Or at a minimum, get rid of the subjective factor of the committee. At least when it was decided by the BCS computers, everyone understood the rules. It wasn't a perfect system, but at least it wasn't corrupt.

Well the NFL is fundamentally different then CFB.

If you knew this was happening why are you acting so shocked/upset?
I'm not shocked, and upset probably isn't quite the right word. I said a few times leading up to it that the right thing to do is include FSU but that there was also no way the committee would do the right thing. Just because I knew what would happen doesn't mean I thought it was the right decision.

Maybe someone brought this up, but why even rank FSU 4 there last week? It’s not like they lost their QB during the CCG, or even the week before the CCG. Pretty much no way they would get into the playoff and it makes the stupid committee look even dumber.

Because you have to keep up the charade that the whole process is unbiased and objective until the very last minute when you have to make crap up to make sure an SEC team is included

Rece Davis and his smug face touts this line every year. "The thing that would resolve the subjectivity is computers instead of a committee made up of people. Well we had that and you all didn't like it." Jesus some people are stupid. Almost nobody hated the computer part of the BCS. We all just wanted it to be more than a two-team playoff. It doesn't need to be said anymore but they just needed to expand the field and keep the BCS formula.
