I'm not shocked, and upset probably isn't quite the right word. I said a few times leading up to it that the right thing to do is include FSU but that there was also no way the committee would do the right thing. Just because I knew what would happen doesn't mean I thought it was the right decision.
Several folks in the "I told you so" camp are really struggling with this part of those that are upset. We ALL knew this was the likely outcome.

They were ranked number two. Number one loses. So they move up. Doesn’t matter, the championship will be a rematch from earlier this year.
On the other hand, nothing was stopping the committee from saying “Number 8 beat number one, guess that means number 8 goes up to one” since they’re just making it up as they go along anyway.

Testifying
Has Mullen given up on being a coach? Figured he'd get back in the game by now.

I can’t believe the left an Undefeated SEC team out of the playoffs!!

FSU beat LSU and Florida.

Mind you, LSU was #5 when they played from the BS preseason rankings.

Garbage.

Rece Davis and his smug face touts this line every year. "The thing that would resolve the subjectivity is computers instead of a committee made up of people. Well we had that and you all didn't like it." Jesus some people are stupid. Almost nobody hated the computer part of the BCS. We all just wanted it to be more than a two-team playoff. It doesn't need to be said anymore but they just needed to expand the field and keep the BCS formula.

Keep in mind that the BCS formula would only come into play on the at-large selections, because winning your conference championship would once again matter. And yes, deserving teams will get left out that way too. But at least the season and championship games will matter and all teams will know going in what it will take to make the cut, because everyone is playing by the same set of rules.

Quinn Ewers was down on the field yesterday after a play yesterday early in the 4th qtr I believe and limped off the field, when the game was all but over, and he came out of the game for a couple plays... and then was right back in. That could have been the end of Texas' chances of making the playoff right there very easily. No way they get in if Ewers is out injured, just like FSU.

I really wanted the committee to put in FSU and leave the SEC completely out... and when asked why... just say that it's because they only play 8 conference games. That would have been AWESOME!

So now you think Michigan doesn't belong? :jimlad:
Honestly with how they looked against Iowa and their horrible non-conference schedule it should have been addressed more than it was. Michigan played Roast Beef Tech, Graceland Baptist Technical College and University of the Moon at Crater Point in the non-con. And FSU down to their third string QB had more yards against a good Louisville defense than Michigan against Iowa. Michigan couldn't run the ball last night, and people are talking about how much FSU would struggle. Well as great as Corum is, and he is, they aren't running on Bama or Texas, and honestly wouldn't have been able to against FSU either. So why is Michigan so good? This program has been destroyed both years in the CFP they have been in.

I would switch Alabama and Texas (being a human, so, yeah that's subjective) but I could live with those top 4 a lot easier than leaving FSU out after their perfect season. Travesty.
The IHSAA uses an RPI rating (in part) to determine their playoff teams, but if two teams are ranked consecutively and the lower-ranked team beat the higher-ranked one head to head, they flip them. Seems like an easy thing to write into your criteria.

(Marion missed the 4A playoffs last year because of that rule … then this year they missed out because a lower-ranked team finished second in the district and was an auto-qualifier.)
