How would that pay? Self relegation lucrative?
Better than the relegation we’re slowly getting now with NIL and essentially unrestricted free agency we have now.

The playoff isn’t supposed to be about which conference is stronger, or the historical performance of your conference. It’s supposed to be getting four teams in based on their performance during this one particular season.
FSU did everything asked of them, played two SEC teams out of conference (they didn’t have to do that, how many P5 teams play two P5 non-con games?), and won them all. What else does the committee think they were supposed to do?
Alabama and the top of the SEC is good, no question. But FSU deserved it more this season.
There is a lot of wisdom in that post. What if the Big12 and ACC aligned with the smaller conferences and pulled out of the CFP completely? Just go ahead and create the P2 system by putting the SEC and Big10 on an island. Put rules in place to keep CFB balanced and let those two conferences do their own thing.
Nice call.FSU isn't getting in... even if they win.
And I don't think they get "penalized," it's actually considered as a way to assess some results when a key player is out.Because there are 68 teams? They get moved down a seed line or two BUT guess what? They still got in.
Nice job of pickingGeorgia played NOBODY this year. What it should be:
Michigan
Washington
Texas
Alabama
Single players have waaaaaaay more impact on a basketball team than they do a football team. And I don't think they get "penalized," it's actually considered as a way to assess some results when a key player is out.
A situation like Kenyon Martin in 2000 probably was a "penalty," but the procedure today is far more in-depth (and Cincinnati did lose its first-round tournament game that season ... I don't want to go too far down a rabbit hole here).

FSU’s QB wasn’t playing defense. He wasn’t blocking upfront to open holes for the backs. There are, what, 84 other scholarship players on that roster, many of whom are essential parts of that 13-0 record, and the committee is telling them they’re just not good enough. It’s reprehensible.
Sure, but is he the "best" douchebag, or the "most deserving"?Rece has been a douchebag for a very long time.
He’s the rare case where the answer is one and the sameSure, but is he the "best" douchebag, or the "most deserving"?
There's nothing wrong in itself with having a committee -- NCAA Tournament has a committee. But that committee assesses a s***-ton of analytics, a specific ratings system (involving schedule strength, game sites and other whatnots), and all of that is transparent, anyone has access to team sheets and such. You’re saying what you thinks makes sense…and does make sense.
This year the small biased committee has said it’s a pure power ranking if who is best right now and fairness/worthiness/deserving does not matter.
The small biased committee with zero set criteria has been a horrific idea from the beginning but people lived with it because 4 was better than 2.
Perhaps this has already been discussed, but one of the reasons they said they dropped FSU was because of the QB injury. With that logic shouldn't they they have been dropped 3 games ago after the QB got hurt? Shouldn't have been in the top 4 before this week anyway...if you use their logic.
The NCAA committee is partially saved by having such a large field. There's nothing wrong in itself with having a committee -- NCAA Tournament has a committee. But that committee assesses a s***-ton of analytics, a specific ratings system (involving schedule strength, game sites and other whatnots), and all of that is transparent, anyone has access to team sheets and such.
It has its flaws with seeding or bubble selection, certainly, but overall gets it right and (here's the main part for this comparson) at least we know what is included.
They also should have been dropped way lower than 5th if you are going to use that logic.Perhaps this has already been discussed, but one of the reasons they said they dropped FSU was because of the QB injury. However, we did play Bama and FSU in back-to-back games. Not many can say that. Not only was Yelk’s FG good (I was right behind the goal post), Seneca was in. Typical. The 'Seneca was in, this is karma' folks understand that FSU was in the playoffs the first year right?
And that game was pretty meaningless?
