Yesterday they quoted Shanahan as saying when he was encouraging Purdy to ignore the naysayers, Purdy had no idea what he was talking about.
I caught that. What is fun is that we aren’t or shouldn’t be surprised by this because we know him. But it would blow the national guys minds or have them not even believe it at all.

Also too what folks are conveniently leaving out is - Brock has greatly improved his arm strength, mechanics, and footwork since he has been at Iowa State. The biggest 'leaps' in his entire post-high school career came in the 3 - 8 months immediately after leaving Iowa, and he continues to get better and better. He's also stronger and faster/quicker than he's ever been.

Huge credit goes to Brock for the dedication and time and hard work he's put in (post-college) to improve his skills, his foundation, the way he approaches the game mentally, etc.

And none of that discredits what he did at Iowa State, although I am sure some will take offense for some reason.
His arm was never that bad, that was fiction.

Oh I'm sure Purdy won't get MVP unless he gets a ring. And he still might not get it even if he does get a ring.

There's never been another NFL QB who has faced as much negative bias as Purdy.

Mr. Irrelevant is not supposed to succeed.

Mr. Irrelevant is not supposed to succeed.
It is damaging to the media industry of a surface level analysis of draft prospects and focus on top college programs and their players.

Which is why the guys who spend the most time running their mouths about that stuff (i.e. Cowherd and some others) are so invested in protecting the narrative instead of putting in the work and looking more closely. They only care about the next 8 minute segment. They don't want to know more than what fits into that.

When you look at real NFL analysts, the guys who are looking at tons of tape and talking to teammates and coaches, they were almost all on board with Purdy real early.

Today an article detailed how many minutes (MINUTES!) the top paid QBs play to earn what BP does in a season.

11 minutes - Lamar Jackson
16 minutes - Patrick Mahomes
19 minutes - Daniel Jones
19 minutes - Deshaun Watson
24 minutes - Joe Burrow

The others are listed, too, at ESPN.com

Just not "right." IMHO.
Do your time and get paid.

Brock probably doesn’t get an original chance with the 49ers if he’s not on a minimum salary.

49ers gonna be in cap hell when Purdy due to get paid. Be shocked if they can keep him. Better hope can win Super Bowl soon.
