Georgia looked like they might have been a strong choice. I would have picked them over Texass.
Yep they would have been easily in over texas if texas didn’t mess up the math with the early season bama win. I still have bama winning the whole thing with Georgia out

They play two right now and no one sits out. Players typically don’t sit out championship games because it actually means something. I don’t think the expanded playoff will change that if anything it will keep more guys playing then would have sat out like with FSU, OSU, PSU, etc

The “20 guys missing” for fsu is more than just they have 20 high draft picks sitting out for draft stock.

I hate the committee about 1000x more than you from our previous discussions as you know but they got it right here.

Arguing for SEC to be left out completely makes little sense and Texas played their way in front of the sec.

Love when people prove my point with their posts, this guy hasn’t suited up since sept and hasn’t been with the team since Oct. so again which guys have been sitting out multiple games of the season for NFL prep that you mentioned? Which starters are sitting out of the playoffs in droves again?

Can you refer to where I said starters?

I said starters, I said point out transfers or opt outs for playoff games and you shared that link in response.

Or feel free to name those players you said were sitting out multiple games to NFL prep to end the season from “texas and other teams”

Hahaha you’re the one throwing out “facts” with zero backing and when asked, can’t back up your statement with anything more then a texas transfer that hasn’t been with the team since Oct and you say I’m the one losing it? That’s a good one

Why do you need to reduce opt outs in teh first place? The guys opting out are done with the program and will be going to the NFL. Why risk millions playing in a game that isn’t for a championship? The expanded playoff will make 12 top teams not have opt outs.

I agree that opting out is best for the players involved. But, it’s not best for the sport if it wants to continue with the bowl system. So I’m looking at it from the perspective of CFB and what they can do to keep the bowl system relevant. And limiting the opt outs will be necessary to do so.

It can be possible that different groups have different objectives and goals. The players have all the leverage, so CFB will need to find a way to incentivize participating. Otherwise, the bowl system as we know it needs to just go away. This charade of teams playing without half their starters will make the bowls even more irrelevant than they already are.

It's not like I said it's some epidemic of it hsppening. The player in the articleWwaa left a future playoff team.. One I'm thinking of was in 2021ish iirc.

There are others. I never said starters and didn't study the names.

You can believe players will w with teams. That was once the case about 10 years ago.

But it's just an exhibition. So it doesn't matter.
FSU was claiming that if they won they were national champs. So I guess it was quasi meaningful.
But the rest of the bowl games outside playoffs are exhibitions. Hell they even let a team with 5 wins in a game.

Next year we have more meaningful games. Thank goodness.

Given opt outs and transfers most of these games suck. Set up bowls to start the year. Have a Labor Day weekend of bowl games. That would give them meaning

You're the one stating an opinion without providing supporting evidence. I believe the burden of proof falls on you.

Posting an article about a player this season leaving a team in October when my original point was about opt outs and transfers is...?

About 25 FSU players opted out.
