Post ASU thoughts.

125 - can’t complain too much here, needs to keep attacking, Griffin of Cal Baptist will be a stiff test (beat Kysen last year).

133 - outsized/matched against a ranked 33 pounder. Leake of CBU is not a push over, so I’m curious if Perryman gets the nod again in his home state.

141 - Ech is so explosive and you can tell he’s so much stronger than most 41’s.

149 - was a bummer for Redding. Larkin looked huge for 149 and Redding is probably what, 145? Larkin is a future multiple AA, IMO.

157 - What a grinder. Teemer looked like he was running on E once Chittum got the first TD and he’s not a guy you want to run out of steam against. Got a seed bump in that W for sure.

165 - don’t need to say much. Ruiz has a few solid wins this year and actually lost a 14-10 decision to Mesenbrink earlier this year, he’s no slouch for a TFr.

174 - MJ’s scrambling will give him a chance against most. Somewhat reminds me of 2023 Kraisser in that he lacks leg attacks but just finds a way in odd positions.

184 - thought he might be in trouble early with how quick Negron was on his legs, but he wore him down and was close to a few backs a couple of times. Likely to be up and down the rest of the way.

197 - was good to see (or should I say hear since it was a purple screen) him get some offense going late in the match. Still has not wrestled many 197 lb matches so I am hopeful he continues to improve with adjusting to the weight.

285 - someone above said this, once Schultz realized he couldn’t just bully Yonger he knew he was in trouble. It’s incredible the jump Yonger has made at heavy. Honestly we’ve had pretty incredible development at heavy with our past 3 (Grem, Sam, now Yonger).

With Redding, it is a balancing act. It comes down to when they believe Casey can come back. With the limit on weekly loss, I'm sure they are watching that. If they think Casey is back in a week, then ZR needs to stay one weeks loss away from 141 if that is where he truly wants to be. So I don't think he will ever be a heavy 149 this year.

If you all have time today go to the Varsity app the on demand and listen to the fellas on the radio during Chittum's match. I'm dying this morning... the funniest stuff I have heard in a long time.

LETS GO! LETS GO! DELAY OF MATCH. :) Never ever change Mr. Nate Carr
Zeke send him an email. Send him a text LOL

This is a great shot of Chittum flipping that match. Got the far ankle and put the opposite boot in at damn near the same time. The top pressure to stuff that far ankle for the pick is something else:

Was it really that dark in there? Looks like there's just 1 spotlight on the wrestlers and that's it haha

Yep and the camera never moved. Except if you wanna count the times the purple screen appeared throughout

I love the way that Nate just yells at the refs during the broadcast. He was livid about Schultz not taking any shots.

The combo of former top-notch wrestler, team dad, articulate analysis, and crazy fan is awesome.

Even though I didn't like a lot of the stall calls, I would rather have a ref calling stall calls on a quicker pace than most do. With our pace, we are going to be on the better side of stall calls most of the time.
Yeah, ref seemed to have some bad ones, but was fast at calling and and I think consistent so some benefitted us (Feldkamp) and some benefitted them (Perryman).

Not too shabby. Especially considering the one takedown he did give up was the beginning of his first match

How does 53:1 takedown ratio compare to the best this season? Last season? All-time?

Had the chance to meet him at a CRTC event on Thursday. He spent 15 minutes talking to my kids, gave a wealth of inspiration/knowledge. The guy is a gem.

So pretty sure David Carr has only been taken down like 10 times his entire career, it may be more but its not more than 15.

Is there anywhere to see a replay of yonger or chittums matches? I don’t have Flo but wasn’t sure if there were other sources for them.
