If they have a new coaching staff, that allows a player a 30 day window to transfer without having to sit out. That is the rule I believe. So even if Ohio State cleaned house, he would still be able to transfer

That only gives players the option to transfer I think, if they've already used their one time transfer then having the option doesn't mean anything. However, currently the courts have paused the one time limit so it may be moot anyway by the time next season rolls around.

Regardless, it's a strange fit for him. They do a good job developing linemen but I'm not sure his skill set will be helped by their scheme. Though I suppose if you pass block 50 times a game he'll either get better at it or not be playing.

He was 2nd team All SEC.
Started pretty rough, got abused and benched a couple times, but seemed to pick it up later in the season. He's more of a mauler, struggled a bit with quick, bursty edge guys. Hate to say it but he'd be a pretty perfect fit for Michigan.

Has to be headed back to Iowa I would think.
Maybe.

But their All-American freshman safety Downs also entered the portal. With the current college sport environment every athlete is a free agent annually. So with a coaching change at Bama, why not test the NIL marketplace.

Wouldn't Oregon be in the mix?? Lanning didn't go anywhere and he visited them too. His HS offer list was beyond impressive, so I'd imagine he'll be able to pick from a nice list of suitors toting a pretty offer.

Proctor: "Hey coach, good to hear from you."
Ferentz: "You know we'd love to have you back home here."
Proctor: "I appreciate that coach. Who's Iowa's OC?"
Ferentz: "We don't have one."
Proctor: "Sure, sign me up."
p.s.

Proctor: “One last thing coach. You’d never make me run around the track with a trash can on my head, would you?”

a lot of ifs, but if Iowa can somehow get an OC worth a crap, keep McNamara healthy, and land Proctor, they will be decent next year. They pretty much have everyone back except a couple.

that being said they probably still won't change a thing offensively, McNamara will get hurt and their punting game will take a step back with a tougher schedule.

Love that Lachey is coming back, but sucks to lose All.

Proctor doesn’t want to get beer cans and liquor bottles tossed at his head at kinnick. Plus he’s noticed the bad winter weather the past week. He’s staying away from the state.

Well the first 2 games until Mcnamara get's hurt and the fat guy has to play quarterback. Maybe Iowa get's proctor and they can put him at Quarterback.

Someone said on here and I know I have heard from others that live in SEP he is best friends with Sama. Not sure we have the NIL to make him happy though.

Culture, would he fit? Yeah, yeah, I'm leery about loaded words. But at ISU, it seems to be a factor in recruiting. Unless it's mostly marketing, about which I don't have a clue.

So, culture?
