Said ISU is probably the most connected team on defense they will have played this year. Says he hopes he can get his team this year to the level ISU and Houston are at on defense because they are both on another level defensively then the rest of the conference.
Said the first word that comes to mind when watching this team is tough and that it’s because they have taken on the personality of TJ and Lipsey.
Said Lipsey and Gilbert are not only good defensively but maybe the best rebounding guards in the conference.
Said they were lucky to score 53 in Ames last year.

And he's great at getting players in foul trouble early with various sets/movement so ISU will need to watch it today.

I know KU gets the favorable calls but Self really is elite at those sorts of nuances in a game, along with the 'need a bucket to stop the bleeding' type of situations.
