Josh Allen is probably the wrong example to be using here. Yeah, I get his playoff record isn't great, and yeah, I get that most QBs get all the credit and blame when things go wrong - but in most of those losses he's not the problem. His postseason stats are of the caliber that most WINNING playoff QBs would kill for - outside of the record. When it comes to Allen, the Bills' defense and this year its special teams have let him down.
Why no one talking about Jackson’s playoff record?

Talking about it in terms of what? He's not a good QB because he's 2-3 in the playoffs?
Why is he beyond criticism? When they choked badly in the playoff, where is the criticism? If Purdy loses on Sunday, national media will crucify him. I still don’t get Lamar Jackson lovefest. He is an exciting athlete but not a great QB. He is a great runner and has good lifetime TD to INT ratio but all other QB stats are mediocre. He is greatly benefiting from outstanding defense and OLs but no one brings these up. He is benefiting as much from Ravens outstanding defense and OLs as Purdy from great Niners skill players.

I don't know that I buy the premise that Lamar Jackson has never been criticized. I think he's taken plenty of criticism that he isn't a great passer, his accuracy specifically, in the past.

Not like Purdy. The media and internet pundits are slandering him incessantly since last Saturday. If it was Jackson not Purdy who brought his team from behind, the national media and pundits would had nothing but praised Jackson. I have never seen a QB who engineered winning drive criticized harshly like Purdy. If Ravens lose on Sunday, headline in the media will be “Ravens lose despite valiant efforts from Jackson”

I have no idea why these people think this way. You won’t convince them no matter what. They look at the incredible numbers Purdy put up this year and think it is all due to supporting casts. I also have no idea why they keep bringing up Lamar Jackson when discussing elite QBs. He is a great runner with adequate passing skills who usually chokes in big games.
I had this exact conversation the other day.

Tim Brando just gave Brock Purdy a good plug on the Purdue @ Rutgers MBB game on FS1. Mentioned that he called a break-out game (w / Spencer Tillman) for BP when he was a freshman in Ames, and he has not looked back since.

Please count “almost intercepted passes” against Jackson like the haters normally do to Purdy. Also, since he played very poorly for 3 quarters, they’d better criticize Jackson even if he makes 4th quarter come back with same intensity that you did to Purdy

So Lamar is the undisputed MVP, right?

Not really interested in hating on the guy, but I guess if he’s the MVP, this loss is his fault?

Baltimore didn’t show up at all. Kelce was in their head even BEFORE the kickoff. Masterful mind games by Kelce, then he comes in and bats .1000 on top of that.
