Ya right, I'm sure they're just itching to divide their power amongst everyone.
I didn’t say divide power, I said invite to the table to have a voice. Really I only hope the Big12 gets the invite as everyone knows the ACC is one successful lawsuit away from dissolving

If the SEC and Big 10 go off to have their own division and playoffs without the ACC and Big 12, they will see their ratings decrease.
Maybe over time. I'm not convinced it will ar first though. Plus the money gap will be so huge that talent will fall out in the ACC and Big 12 in a couple years.

That isn’t even remotely what this is about. It’s about the NCAA being absolutely useless and rewriting the policies around NIL, transferring and recruiting. Everyone knows the ratings would drop that’s why their isn’t a real push for P2

That's what giving them a voice would do, though I'm sure they would give the image of a partnership but the two smaller conferences would basically just be a figure head like the British royals.

Obviously I'll have to see what kind of shape all of this takes. But if this is just going to be NFL lite and the team I care about doesn't have access, why wouldn't I just watch the NFL instead?

Nah it would be a voice without a vote probably, I don’t like it but that’s what it would be. There’s zero talk about breaking out a P2 and the big ten and SEC have plenty of teams in the lower echelon that will have a voice with power

The strength of college football was 100ish brands in almost every single media market (even very small ones) where people LIVED there for 4-6 years and attended the games where they lived and learned. It's like if NFL fans all lived together at the training facility or stadium in their late teens and early 20s.

The reasons I'm an ISU fan are wildly different than the reasons I watch pro sports. If there's no ISU involved, the rest of this is all AAA baseball to me...meaning absolutely no interest.

If they were serious, they would invite the other P5 ADs and presidents. They look down their noses at them.

Short term money grabs often kill a golden goose or delay the long term more profitable solutions.

At some point they need to ask themselves what makes them different than the NBA GLeague, XFL and AAA baseball and ask if what they are doing maximizes those strengths or is tearing them down.

This is how I interpret the Big12 and SEC joint venture as well. It's got a similar tone to how the Power conferences treated the G5 or non-power conferences.

Sigh, this isn’t a money grab at this point, it’s trying to put rules/policy’s in place that can be regulated since the NCAA can’t do anything.

There also isn’t a P5 any more and their really isn’t a P4, it’s just a P3, I’m a little annoyed the Big12 is left out but that is 100% arrogance

Maybe but I doubt it. I’d still watch because I love football and there are some great teams to watch in that bucket. Despite all the changes and outcry over NIL, viewership shows signs of increasing on the horizon, just like they have for big NFL games this year.

By not including the Big12 I totally agree. By trying to make policies that can actually be enforced instead of whatever it is the NCAA is trying to do might actually benefit college sports. The problem is anything will obv be skewed towards helping the conferences with the most money which is less then ideal if that’s the way it plays out.
