I've been listening most of the morning. We're 40 minutes in and I don't think there has been a single mention of Iowa States big road win at Cincinnati with our top 10 team last night.
Travis and Ross flat out do this on purpose. It’s pretty pathetic. To be fair they aren’t talking about the Iowa men’s team either…

To be fair, they USUALLY don’t bring up hotter topics until around halfway through the show when they know they have a higher live listening audience with people driving to work.

Talk of number 1 seeds going down was brought up. Of course they could only remember Virginia and the board op had to look up to remember it was Purdue last freaking year. Of course the not remembering was probably because it was from their beloved big 10.

It’s what always cracks me up after teams sign these QBs to these massive deals and all the NFL talking heads talk like now the team is going to be great for years because tgey “got their franchise QB.” Yeah, their best window to win just closed. Better hope that QB isn’t just a franchise QB, he better be an all-timer.
I certainly understand why a player wishes to maximize their earning, but if they want to win they wouldn't sign these huge contracts. Doing so just limits what else the team can do for you. I am convinced that Manning could have won more than two rings if his contracts weren't so large. That would have given the Colts more money to get more weapons.

This mornings conversation on the Morning Rush involved Travis stating that he doesn't think Houston is that good and that defensive basketball is boring. He also said teams likes Iowa State and Houston may struggle in the tournament because they play too physical. Tell me you haven't watched these two teams play without telling me you haven't watched these teams play. They both do an excellent job at defending without fouling. Yes, they will push it but they also now when to pull back. So dumb.

I wonder how he thinks the Hawkeyes will do in the tournament.

Defense wins.

That's what my high school coach always told us. Travis must have never played any sports

Ironically, that's why Carver is a morgue. It's hard to get the crowd engaged after you score a big bucket and give up a blow by layup. Stops absolutely feed a good arena/crowd.

Oh he was crapping on the Big 12's physical play in general and how it doesn't translate to the tournament. He's clearly not a history major... Iowa State and Houston are not the Huggy WV teams. They defend and they defend very well but and they are nothing like the WV foul fests.

Kind of agree with him about being too physical to succeed in the tournament, but I think that is due to the officials in the Big 12 allowing teams like us to play physically, and then be slapped with every touch foul possible in the tournament. That's not just us though, that's all Big 12 teams.

I understand Travis is a moron, but concern about officiating in the tournament with our physical style of play is something you see expressed often on this board, so its not like that take is unique to Travis.

If we get the old Press Virginia treatment in the tournament we absolutely could be in trouble. Huggins' teams always struggled because the fouls got called in the Dance.

Travis is a clueless talking head. Can't really take him seriously.

Didn't seem to be a problem for Kansas in 2022 or Baylor in 2021

How can you watch Houston(especially defensively) and say that they aren't that good? Stop watching the Iowa and Nebraska pillow fights in the Big 10. What an idiot.

This is always a concern in the tournament, every year. Different refs will call games differently.

Just put a Big 10 logo on their jerseys during the tournament and ISU can get as physical as they want.

Fran's defensive strategy has done wonders for hoks in the NCAA tourney.
For that matter, the B1G in general has killed it in the tourney for the last 2 decades...:mccaffery:
