Look at how different sports and leagues get treated with this type of thinking.

No one, NO ONE, says anything about the SEC playing less conference games in football or that they schedule 4 cupcakes (1 in November) even though it’s been happening for years. Yet, the Big 12 has been dragged all year long for it this year. Pregame shows mention it, halftimes shows mention it, articles are written weekly about it. It’s incredible how the Big 12 gets treated even when they are the powerhouse conference.
NCAA has no real control of football anymore (if they ever did). They are trying to hang on to control in basketball.

Eh to me it’s nothing to do with the NCAA. It’s the media.

“The SEC can’t possibly play a 9th conference game. Have you seen how hard each week is?”

“The Big 12 is gaming the system. Those scumbags are trying to manipulate high rankings so they can get more teams in the tourney!”

Obviously I’m fabricating a little but the point remains.

It's this. We need Baylor to do their part for our conference championship.
I’m probably in the minority here but I’d rather secure Omaha in the tourney than share a regular season championship. Baylor would vault in the rankings by beating Houston on Saturday.

I would assume a 7 seed is about the lowest projected seed right now for Power 6 team that only has 5 losses.

At some point wins have to matter and they are doing a solid job of winning so far despite their average metrics.
Also, they have been good on the road and in neutral site games. I think that is giving them a boost as well.

I don't really. But when it's likely those same people, the one's that ***** about posts time and time again, keep engaging and report (instead of ignoring) it becomes a bit of an issue. They know who they are.

Someone sure has their undies bunched up today. For the record I have yet to report you. Yet that is......

This is from an Athletic article today:

"We caught up with the chairman this week to discuss some pertinent issues (and nominate ourselves for future committee membership … still waiting to hear back on that one).

How about the notion that certain leagues, like the Big 12, have gamed the system by playing soft nonconference schedules and then simply racking up quality wins against one another? Iowa State, for example, played the No. 323 nonconference schedule per the NET, yet had five Quad 1 wins before the reveal. (The Cyclones added another Saturday against Texas Tech before losing to Houston on Monday.) They were awarded an early No. 3 seed by the committee, 12th overall.

“We spend a significant amount of time discussing this exact topic,” McClelland said. “It’s always good for the game to play good nonconference schedules. If teams are going to play a weak nonconference schedule, it makes it critically important for them to do well in their league games. Even in the loss at Houston, it was a hard-fought game, and I think the nation could see, even if they watched just that one game and not the entirety of the season like we do, that Iowa State is a very good team and certainly deserving of the seed we gave them. But if you do play a weak nonconference schedule and then you get into the league and don’t win those games against the best teams and are just kind of floating there at let’s say 9-9 … just because you have a tremendous amount of wins doesn’t necessarily guarantee you a way into the tournament.”

That's a lot of words from the chairman to simply state "The Big 12 conference has a bunch of elite teams"

Wherever I go, there I am.
Honest opinion? For being "reported" by the 10 or so people who seem to dumb, hate, or vehemently respond to any post I have regardless of the content. Also, in all honesty, I'm personally attacked more than anyone on this board (and by a large margin). I'm not really crying about that in and of itself, but find it ludicrous people can vehemently attack me for something they don't agree with only to report me for (sometimes) responding to those attacks.

Why not just put me on ignore? Those are questions the posters nor the mods really want to address.

Baylor still has other tough conference games where they could stumble...Let's hope they beat the Cougars today. We all want to be back in 1st place! Providing we beat WV too.

The one seeds will be interesting now with Arizona losing at home to Washington State. If you go look at their wins and losses they are not a one seed in my opinion. Now the committee really seems to value who you beat and not who you lose too, so we shall see.

But man they have some ugly losses.

WSU loss is Q1b (fringe Q2a), Arizona probably isn't dropping much, if at all.

If one views UA's position on 1 line too high, that's a separate matter.

That's the biggest thing I think I've gotten from this years committee, a bunch of good wins with a few bad losses outweighs a handful of good wins with no bad losses. Except for Alabama who only has 2 Q1 wins the last I checked and a lot of Q1 losses, thats the one team where I really don't see an argument putting them ahead of ISU. I don't think Kansas should be either but I at least get the argument that they have great non con wins

Agree they value wins way more than losses (Kansas) but will be interesting to see what they do with Alabama. 7 losses and 2-6 in Q1 but somehow still a 2-seed in most brackets???

Some of the studio folks at ESPN seem to compliment the Big 12 with clinched teeth. It's kind of weird but not surprising.

They'll be screaming about the B1G here the next two-three weeks.
