For as exciting the comeback was last night, to me the bigger thing was the reemergence of Tamin. And for that I thought it deserved its own thread. He was outstanding on both ends and that’s going to be what we need for the next 4 weeks. If we get that version, we are going to have a lot of games left in this season.

Totally agree. Interestingly, the guy who sat next to me at Hilton last night complained about Tamin most of the first half. Kept yelling for Tamin to "redeem himself." Seems as though Tamin did.

And I have to admit, I was not feeling too positive about the team's chances at halftime.

He was outstanding, but I think he basically willed the team to a win despite being dinged up. He's been in a slump, but I really think it's mostly a beat up body that is the culprit.

Rough start offensively but he was really dialed in defensively the entire game. His second half offensively was great.

Posted this in the game thread but we need at least one of Tamin and Keshon to play well to go deep in March. One can have an off night but they both can't. And if they ever both get locked in together...look out. Add in Curtis Jones and I have zero worry about our guards.

It was great to see him have a big game, especially after the slow start (putting it mildly) on offense.

At least the double-bye means we get a little break after Saturday, no game until Thursday. Although at this point, assuming it's still the shoulder that is the main issue for Tamin, I'd assume another day or two is not going to make much difference and it's just something that has to be managed until you get to the off-season and can fully rest it for weeks at a time.

It's too bad we play before Houston does on Saturday. If Houston played first, and won, it could be a good spot to rest Tamin.

I can not imagine any scenario in which this staff, or even Tamin, would be ok giving an inch of room to K-State. That said, would be nice to see some big minutes for the CEO on Saturday.

True. K-State must be crushed. I think we could do it without Lipsey.

He started the game terribly. Had a few turnovers, got a couple shots blocked, then flipped a switch. He and Curtis Jones took over from there.

Curtis Jones is our best player right now. Prove me wrong. Have you ever seen a player improve as much during a season? He did it while the competition level ramped up too.

I think he's used to being more physical than guys his size, and being able to blow by guys that are bigger. BYU has several guys that are quick enough that it's tough to get around them, and also able to match his physicality (plus, with more height). Luckily, not many teams have that.

He really could use some rest.
My thoughts as well. After Saturday these guys will get a good needed rest to gear up for the final most important stretch. We’ve been squeaking by the last few games but we’ve came out with a W. It was good and important to see lipsey getting it going last night. Now we need Gilbert to get going again. The nice thing is we are so deep that it seems like someone is always on. At Kansas st is going to be tough this Saturday. We need our guys to be on point
