The comment section on that local article is more active than every Iowa MBB board combined.

BYU belongs in Power One hoops. A huge % of the big fan bases who actually care, show up and get loud are in this one conference.

Rewatching the game (fastforward to 46-32) cause I am a sicko.

-Tamin and Curtis were awesome.
-Hilton was loud.
-We didn’t get a lot of breaks, and made our own luck.
-Hason played his best game in a month. Really disciplined on defense.
-Keshon was elite with effort and attitude.

@HFCS is complaining about officiating!? Wild, never saw it coming.
Did you see, while the camera followed the shot in the air, his uniform was pulled? It happened… just a ****** angle and camera work to ‘debunk’ things.

and the hatred between BYU and Utah is even greater than ISU and Iowa.

I'd have never dreamt I'd be clearly on the BYU side of that rivalry but it's really easy.

Cruise by any Utah forum or social media and half of the content is still their grand plan/burning desire to leave the Big 12 and talking about how the Big 12 is the worst thing ever. Still! It's not sinking in.

I had a good experience going to Provo for the game this fall. Overall good fans (ISU dominating the game certainly helped tame them though).

May be going to SLC next season, but nothing planned yet.

I do too... but the trends at the end are starting to remind me of 2014-15 (I really hope not!) They keep getting themselves into self-created jams. They don't fully learn from them, because they get out of them.

This last one reminded me ALOT of the Oklahoma comeback at Hilton.
I would say BECAUSE they keep getting out of them they ARE learning from them

I thought it looked like a 99% easy call live and on the replay. Yeah the guy starts moving under him as he goes up but he's still pushing further in during the put back.

Maybe I watch too many NBA games because if I'm watching an NBA game I move it up to 100% absolute certain they never call it like that. I mostly only watch ISU other than years like this where teams winning/losing could get us a Big 12 championships.

Maybe in college basketball that's the right call...although even in ISU games it seemed freakishly wrong from my past 28 years of watching ISU.

I love the difference in fan base responses on our respective boards to the respective losses of our teams against each other this year.

We lose in Provo and it's largely well s*** we got outplayed, that team's just a bad matchup for us, hope we get them back in Hilton.

They lose in Ames and it's hurf durf the arena was too loud, the students are too close and we can't hear coach, the refs f***ed us, hope they get realigned out, blah blah blah.

I don't know why anyone likes or even tolerates this (BYU's) athletic dept or this school. Bunch of hypocrites. They piss and moan about playing basketball on Sundays and the NCAA has to schedule around them every year, but when their football players get to the NFL all these issues of playing on Sunday vanish. "I'm a highly observant Mormon until you pay me enough money" I guess. Their campus "personal conduct" code also openly discriminates against same-sex relationships. F***'em.

I also don't know how any sane person watches that game and thinks ISU came out favored by the officiating.

I know their A.D. got their panties in a bunch when the FB(?) player got a VB player knocked up a couple yrs back or so. Think the dude got dismissed from the team if I remember right.

Replay's up on YT.

BRE might be one of the most improved skill-wise but his resiliency to just 'clean slate' things and keep at it is some mythical stuff, along with just how his teammates follow it.

That weird bobble out of bounds with about 2:30 left was a prime example. It happens, he looks down because of how big it was, Lipsey chats him up and he gives the thumbs up to the sideline and it's 'let's go win the game'.

A lot of it (and it’s a different game and crew) comes from the couple of continuations we just saw UCF get when we played them. If those were continuation then the foul on Rob was most certainly.

I thought officiating was fairly even, but the "let them play" mentality definitely benefited us more than BYU. That said, you play (and adjust) how it is called. We did that better.

I've camped/backpacked in the mountains near there that are only a 20-30 minute drive from Provo or SLC. Probably too much cold/snow risk for basketball but I might plan a football game like that sometime and just camp in the same place but spend the one Saturday in town. There are surprisingly few campsites so def need a reservation.

I found this somewhat fascinating. Three of BYU's players are Muslim and are about to have to deal with Ramadan fasting during the tournament. I just assumed that everyone - or at least nearly everyone - that goes to BYU is Morman.

Are they held to the same standards? How are students expelled for 'soaking' if they're not Mormon? Do all students need to abstain?

I didn't know they had a mic in the balcony by me

In the 1st half there was a string of in my opinion poor calls the BYU fans ahead of my got a full content version of sailor language after the one that really pissed me off. Oh well.
