You weren’t the only one. Not sure why I ever look in the game day thread.

Seems we have a lot of Lipsey haters, Settles lovers, and a mod who hates Emily Ryan.

I'm glad I stayed out of the game thread but how did Em get drug into the MBB game thread?

I really wouldn't mind a quick exit in KC this year. I think this team and Tamin in particular could really use some rest. This is a team that has the potential to reach an E8 or F4. We have several B12 tourney wins in recent memory, and those are fun, but I would much rather make some history in the NCAA. And to do that we need our guys at their best.

This blows my mind. Just another indicator of the new age we are in:

So now we’re just pretending Conditt didn’t exist?

Edit to add that the Covid year really screws with the definition of “full eligibility,” but expecting someone that has already played for 4 years to stay seems like moving the goalposts. Er… backboard.

George Conditt. Thank you. I knew that couldn't be right.

For as exciting the comeback was last night, to me the bigger thing was the reemergence of Tamin. And for that I thought it deserved its own thread. He was outstanding on both ends and that’s going to be what we need for the next 4 weeks. If we get that version, we are going to have a lot of games left in this season.
Not only the re-emergence but the fact that he started out the game a little shaky and reasserted himself mid-game. Will go a long way for his confidence over the next month

I'd like to see them get some rest too, but I'll say this: whoever you put out there is going to do everything in their power to win. That's just the DNA that TJ has instilled in this team, and the type of players he has brought in.

About the only way to go about that if that's your goal is to sit the guys who are dinged up. I don't think that's TJ's goal though. If he sits anyone, he's still going to do everything he can to win anyway.

Solomon Young also played five years at Iowa State. I think he could have played one more due to injury but this is tweet.

Yeah, I don't think we would try to have players hold back. And I don't think we would choose to rest anyone either. I'm just going in with the idea that we are probably a 2 seed in Omaha no matter what we do in the B12. And as far as being NCAA ready, we may actually be better off if we catch a hot shooting night from TCU and get bounced in the first game as opposed to grinding our way through TCU and BU only to lose a rock fight in OT to Houston. I'm not hoping or cheering for a quick out, but because of how I see our position right now it won't upset me much either.

Winning the B12 and taking over KC is always a blast, but I'm itching for a deep NCAA run and we have a great opportunity for that.

I don't get the obsession with so many people on here that we need to rest guys. Every game for the past couple of weeks people are floating the idea out there. I mean, I do get the concept, and it's not a totally crazy idea, but these are 18-22 year olds and every other team has players who have played 30 games at this point. These players invest their lives in playing basketball. I guarantee you they all want to play and not sit. Sitting out a game can potentially have negative effects, as it can take a game or two to get back in a rhythm. Now if TJ simply just spreads the minutes more among the bench players, that makes more sense to me.

Would be nice to get a Friday NCAA game so we’ve got 6 days off - potentially more. And hopefully not a close first round game so we can play Lipsey 20 minutes instead of 30+.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that guys rest just to be rested, but if someone is nursing an injury, resting them as much as you can afford to makes sense.
