Beat Houston tomorrow and we should jump to top 2 seed, in my opinion. Unless Marquette wins the Big East tourney in which case that’s probably a toss up.

Literally anything can happen in the tournament. Worrying about a potential Elite 8 opponent at this point seems silly. Just get the two seed and home court advantage at Omaha. Hilton West!
Some of us care because we need to set up travel plans and I’d rather take the short trip to Detroit than Boston or LA

Tell me how many teams have won back to back titles the last 50 years and I'll tell you that playing UConn may not be as bad as some think.
But, how many defending champions made it back to the final four the following year?
Also, in the past 30 years, how many times have we been bounced by the eventual champion? Without looking, I believe it's 4 or 5 times

You are probably right, but why?

Iowa State would finish 10-6 in quad 1 and 6-1 in quad 2. Worst loss would be a neutral site game against Net 60.

UNC would be 9-3 in quad 1 and 8-3 in quad 2.

Iowa State would have better tops wins. UNC has far worse losses.

At a minimum, Iowa State is right there with UNC. Maybe they decide it's so close that non con SOS comes into play.
This is exactly right and you laid it out perfectly. Anyone that says ISU isn't right there with UNC and will not be discussed for the last 1 seed is wrong IMHO. Now, I think the discussion will be quick and UNC will definitely get it no matter what but their will be a discussion if ISU beats Houston. Our non con will be the deciding factor and deservedly so probably.

Arizona has losses to Stanford, Oregon State, and USC. Their is zero reason they should not fall to the bottom of the 2 line. While they are a really good team they have been a media darling ever since the win at Duke in November and those 3 losses have been ignored too much.

We can go to Omaha and still go to any region.
We won't go south because of Houston.
West will likely be UNC and Arizona
Leaving us, Tennessee and Marquette.
With that we go East, Tennessee south and Marquette MW unless we can jump both those schools then we'd get MW, Marquette south and Tennessee East.

I have no idea if beating Houston is enough to get us to the 6th overall seed, but it's now the only way we avoid UCONN in Boston.
UCONN in Boston has serious 2000 vibes… but 2000 was one heck of a ride. Maybe a chance to exorcise the ghosts of Auburn Hills past.

I have a feeling that a couple Big 12 teams are going to get left out now at the final hour because the Committee is going to forget they had to play superior competition the last 18 games of the season. Somebody like Texas, TCU or Oklahoma gets left out because, oh look, that St Johns came on at the end and got to 20 wins! Or, well Villanova is 18-15 but they had some close losses. Indiana is the hottest team going right now! Hope I'm wrong, but just not convinced the national narrative gives the Big 12 its due at crunch time here.

This will happen. There's a consensus hard on for the big East

UT and TCU are locks. A few bubble teams still alive could jump OU for seeding, if that happens to mean OUT, so be it. St. John's is done playing and below OU in most projections. Villanova's bubble burst.

I know Lunardi is a clown but right now he has us #2 in the east versus Soith Dakota State then winner of Texas A&M and Clemson). Thankfully in Omaha but that’s not a great bracket.

I think OU's in, but teams like Cincy and Kstate aren't making it which probably would have hadn't they played in the big12.

If Texas and Oklahoma get left out I won't shed a tear. I don't think they will though.
