I think we match up really well with their size. Starters 6'3, 6'8, 6'8, 6'9, 6'11
Simply means Gilbert or Jones get guys a few inches taller. Plus the only 3 they used off the bench were 6'11 back up center and 6'3 and 6'5 guards. So their bench reduces their height advantage. Our guys rotate so much even Lipsey at 6'1 has shown he can guard a big in the post. They are due a very rude awakening.

The opposite would be true as well, if you beat Drake the local Hawkeye media says it’s an easy path.
Would of had to bring CMC out to remind us not to overlook Drake. Wazzu is pretty fitting to how their going to feel Sunday morning.

Washington State looked really bad in person. Drake should have ran them out of the building. I'd be shocked if we didn't dominate them. 4 of their 5 rotation guys played over 35 minutes last night also.

I'm expecting them to be sharper Saturday and I'm sure TJ and Co. are too.

I also think ISU will have their own aspects to be better at; example the ball seemed to stick a bit more last night vs. a week ago.

I’m convinced it is almost next to impossible to game plan against Iowa State defense in one day. Washington state turns the ball over more than it gets turnovers and sits at 207th in the nation for turnover margin. Iowa state sits at 2.

I think if we limit their rebounding we should walk away with a win. I felt like Drake blew the game more than WSU won it last night.
You realize that's not how this works, right? Since selection Sunday, every team has scouting and game plans for all potential matchup scenarios, not just linearly / sequentially in a one-game-at-a-time approach.

Just like we prepped for SDSU, Drake, and WSU all week...

IMO, WSU is by far the better matchup for ISU. they have more high major bodies, but they are far less skilled than Drake. We should be able to turn them over a lot.
That was my take as well. That is not a high skilled team. Jones was awesome but ISU has three guys that can guard him and have faced better players all year. Drake had one guy and even that at times was questionable.

I expect a buttload of WSU turnovers.

Dude was already wrong in his very first statement about us depending on making 3's. We're ~300th in the country in 3pt attempts per game, lol
According to the kenpom dump above, they score 26% of their points from 3 - good for 300th nationally. We score a whopping 26.4% of our points from 3 - good for 292nd nationally.

The real deciding point in the game is that we force teams to score from outside - we are one of the top 10 teams in the country in limiting points near the basket (43% of opponent points from 2s) - where they score 56% of their points in 2s.
Will they be able to go against their nature and make a ton of 3s? Or will they try to score in the paint against us (which never goes well)?

I really like this matchup. I didn't want to play Drake for a lot of reasons - mainly team mental-state - but also because Drake is a better 3pt shooting team AND they (at least hypothetically) have DeVries who can take over a game. Although he was HORRIBLE at the end of that game yesterday.
