Our dog recognizes the CBS March Madness lead in music

And promptly leaves the room

Probably a wise move

Because it's not 5 yet and the other game ended - here's a breakdown of the Wazzu players:

PG - #2 Myles Rice - probably their best player, is technically a Freshman. He redshirted 2 years ago and then missed last season with cancer. He averages 15pts, 4 assists, 3 rbs and 1.5 steals a game. He's 6'3", but not a big build. He gets to the lane well and finishes (>50% on 2pt shots) and shoots well from the line (81%) but has struggled from deep (27%) and makes ~1 three per game. He's gone 0-14 from three in their last 4 games. He turns it over about 3 times a game too - and I think he'll struggle with the physicality of Tamin and Keshon. Reminds me of Milos Uzon at OU - but scores more.

SG - #0 Jaylen Wells - One of several transfers from lower levels (Sonoma State in his case). He's 6'8", but very skinny. An excellent shooter who has scored 27 a couple of times, including in their win at Arizona. He shoots 43% from 3 and 82% from the line - but takes < 5 threes per game. He has more turnovers than assists on the season - but has been really good the last 5 games, 14 assists, 7 steals and only 4 turnovers. Kind of reminds me of a taller Curtis Jones in his style.

SF - #23 Andrej Jakimovski - Another 6'8" shooter, he's a bit older and thicker. He's been at Wazzu for 4 years. He's a career 34.5% 3pt shooter, but takes far more 3s than 2s. He doesn't shoot FTs well, but is their second leading rebounder at 6 per game.

PF - #13 Isaac Jones - Played really well against Drake, brought all the effort and energy in their comeback. He's 6'9" with a big wingspan and will play the '5' for probably half the game. He leads them in scoring at almost 16 a game and rebounding at almost 8. He is 1-14 from 3 on the season, so most of his scoring is in the paint. Against Drake he faced up and drove around the bigs a lot - something he won't get against us. He turns the ball over 2 times a game - so how he handles the quick, hard double team will be a key to the game. He's a transfer who played 1 year at Idaho and 3 years before that at a lower level school. He doesn't get in foul trouble a lot - but if he were, it would be a big problem for Wazzu.

C - #45 Oscar Cluff - Big body 6'11" Australian who has only played about 12 minutes a game recently. Averages 7 and 4 on the season, but doesn't really do much other than be big in the lane.

The bench is:

#12 Isaiah Watts - 6'3" freshman who can shoot a little (39% from 3) but averages < 4pts on the season. He played in crunch time against Drake but only played 8 minutes in 2 games in the Pac 12 tourney

#31 Kymany Houinsou - 6'6" backup PG from Paris, France, A soph he doesn't play a ton, and doesn't shoot the 3 much, but averages 4 pts, 3 boards and 2 assists per game. If Rice struggles we may see him more. Didn't score against Drake, but scored 19 pts in 2 games in the Pac12 tourney.

#20 Reuben Chinyelu - 6'11" freshman from Nigeria. Averages 5pts and 5 boards - plus over 1 block a game - in < 14 minutes

First day of spring marks margarita season in my household, where I buy a handle of Espolon reposado, a fifth of Cointreau and a giant bag of limes. I haven't done that yet. June Shine Spirits classic tequila margarita in a can is a pleasant surprise. Highly recommend.
We should all celebrate this post.
