Those people just advocate for cheaper gas. What would you drive if gas was 2.15 a gallon where you live?
If an EV cost more for me than comparable gas car I’m not sure I’d have tried it but my wife would have as she’s pretty passionate about certain issues.
Trying it via phev convinced me if costs were equal ev is more convenient for my life style, it surprised me. The growing reality though is it may be more convenient and cheaper for most. There are some new models and even small suvs just around the corner in mid 20k range qualifying for the credit. At that time even if someone’s fuel savings is only $1/gallon (vs our 3-4) it will still save them $.
