Are they short with adding Jesus Tinoco today or did he fill that spot? Merryweather is pitching for Iowa tonight.
Tough game watching the Cubs hitters. They seem to take a lot of hittable balls because it's not the specific pitch they are looking for.
And their base running can be frustrating. In the 8th Happ hits a sac fly to deep cf scoring Hoerner. But Busch is hedging toward third vs. tagging-up if caught, he stays at 2nd. Ends up costing Cubs a run when Swanson has infield single.

Mooney says he thinks the Cubs will trade a veteran reliever to potentially free up space, which mostly means Smyly or Neris.

His teammates and the coaching staff in Des Moines seem to think he has a future behind the plate.So he's 20, not very good behind the plate. Plays 1st but he's 5'7. But he's destroying AAA. Is he our DH for the foreseeable future?

That being said, he’s allowed 48 stolen bases in 41 games behind the plate. You can’t let singles and walks turn into doubles because you can’t throw a guy out.
My hope is he continues to develop this year. Word is it’s believed the bat in MLB ready but there’s zero reason to have him up playing with this steaming pile of **** right now
Even if he can catch 2 or 3 days a week, it's worth taking your time with him behind the plate.
Either way he's going to force himself to Chicago by June next year. His swing is just absolutely beautiful.

I think he can be the bench guy that gets starter ABs. DH 3 or 4 times a week. 3rd catcher, ( ph for starters in 6th or 7th) and can come in.play 1st, Busch can move over to 2nd or 3rd.
