I don’t follow women’s recruiting. Looks like Bill recruits way different than TJ. TJ seems to recruit about five guys total and gets three of them.
Some years there are up to 50 WBB recruits of interest per class, obviously some more highly recruited than others, and only two commintments out of that 50! Not all WBB coaches do that, but many approach that level. So, Bill is not much different than many other WBB Coaches. It is
almost a shotgun, see-what-sticks approach, and moves pieces around when the top targets fall through.
TJ's ideas on how to operate his program are out in the open. That is to know his needs, focus on those precisely, find "realistic" targets to fill needs, keep up the relationships, and be real. TJ has proven highly successful. Bill has a history of his own success. One is efficient the other "is what it is," and has been that way for a while.
