Dake looked awful against Takitani.

Setting up to be a pretty colossal failure for an Olympics without Russia there. Spencer is the only finalist from the first four weights. Retheford is going to be a huge underdog against Amouzad first round and Synder has Tazhudinov in the semi's who teched him 11-0 at the '23 worlds.

Like worthy of shaking up the leadership of the US freestyle coaching team bad.

Cannot believe he continued to give up his leg like that.

His two losses at the Olympics are truly one of the most unbelievable things I’ve seen in wrestling. He’s always been one of the best competitors in the sport, and always wrestled so smart and finds a way to win. Now in two Olympics he’s had the two worst matches of his entire career, college and beyond. Unreal.
He was so straight up in his stance. Almost like he wanted him on his leg so he could go to that chest wrap immediately and that failed at least 3 times, horrible game plan.

For a guy who's been so hard to score on forever, that was just so bizarre.

Both Olympics, just had absolute brain farts for a guy that just never does that.

Don't get me wrong I love Dake, but sometimes he acts a bit cocky like he underestimates his opponents.

I don’t know how Dake has another run in him for 2028. Even if he did, age has to catch up.

I expect 74kg to be a wide open field in 2028. Nolf would be the favorite if he doesn’t fully transition to MMA/Grappling, but Carr, O’Toole, Messenbrink, Haines, and probably others (Bassett, Lockett?) are contenders.

Is there anyway to watch this live without Peacock?

Lee on the clock, gets a push-out to go up 1-0 (and wipe out the clock.)

Second push-out late in the first. 2-0 at the break.

Lee unsuccessful on two push-out attempts. Goes for broke in short time and gives up a takedown.

Higuchi wins 4-2.

Bummer. I don't know anything about Freestyle - why do some of those push outs not earn a point?

Well I guess at this point I'll be mindly surpised if the men bring any gold medals back. I just dont think Retheford is good enough and I'm not picking Snyder to beat Tazhudinov until I see that happen.
