I think Frank died a month or so ago. If I remember correctly.

Yeah my folks always called if Forestville when I was a kid but I always thought it funny cause it really wasn't much of a town at that point. I never remember a gas station there but there could have been when I was little and I never noticed. Before the entrance near the dams. Little resort that I recall as Forestville but maps show now as Forest Villa Resort.
Used to fish from the dam abutment walls as a little kid with my dad and sister. Traditional cane poles with bobber and worms. Always caught fish. Got spoiled. Didn't figure out till I was an adult that my dad only took us there when they were biting. He was good friends with Louie who was the park manager, than called "custodians". Louie let him know that he should bring the kids over.
We also drove Louie's car out onto the frozen ice one winter dragging us kids behind it. I would guess that park employees don't do that anymore!
I'm racking my brain as to which entrance there used to be a gas station near. Was that near the golf course at the north entrance or near the beach entrance? Or are we talking about one in Dundee?

Trader Joe's has excellent frozen bags that cook in under 10 minutes.Gnocchi is good.
Seconded. Was shocked at how good that stuff is.Trader Joe's has excellent frozen bags that cook in under 10 minutes.
Welllllll, this day is starting out just DUCKY.
Damn fool painter rang our doorbell at 7.20 this morning. While we are expecting them in the future, they're not supposed to be here until AFTER the plumbing work to take a line to a humidifier in the sun room. There will be some wall patching after that. So...wrong day, wrong house, and the address the guy had doesn't even exist on our lane (six houses on a private lane).
SOMEbody done fooked up...
Maybe it's nit-picky for me, but the assumption is that the cows want people to eat chicken instead of beef, right? So why do they use a dairy breed instead of a meat breed?I like the new chik fil a ad where the 2 cows are at the hardware store buying paint. It made me smile.
I’m almost surprised how much they spend on advertising. Everytime I go to one, it’s absolutely packed.I like the new chik fil a ad where the 2 cows are at the hardware store buying paint. It made me smile.
Are they steers or cows? Never looked, but if steers….they be eaten. Not as great as ones raised specifically for meat production, but if raised right can still be decent.Maybe it's nit-picky for me, but the assumption is that the cows want people to eat chicken instead of beef, right? Oh, I know that male Holsteins are a meat source, but the breed is primarily dairy. It just bugs me because there are easily recognizable meat breeds that they could have used,...like my family's Herefords. But I suspect the ad agencies don't even know the difference. Are they steers or cows? Never looked, but if steers….they be eaten. You got me curious, so I went googling for images from their ads. Either they were holding up signs that hid their bits, or they were drawn with no udders. Logical assumption is that they are male. Are they steers or cows? Never looked, but if steers….they be eaten.
