I used to be so jacked for this game. A lot of the time I couldn't sleep the night before. Last night I slept fine. I just do not have that excitement for this game this year probably because I feel like we just do not have much of a chance today. Most other years I was excited because I thought we had a chance to win.
Coach Mac would get everyone fired up for this game each year. He would pull out all the stop to try and get a W. Campbell definitely wants to win I'm not saying that , but he seems to approach it as just another non con game. Play it conservative and the record shows that doesn't go well for us. I'm with you. Not feeling the same excitement for this game today.

Pretty much same here. I give us about a one in three chance today. Been burned too often in recent years.

Eff this thread.

I think ISU wins today by throwing the ball a lot more than in the past — lighting the hawks up Purdue university style.

It will be a fun game to watch this year.

I do think ISU has more success on offense than previous years by throwing the ball. I just think Iowa will control the ball and not give us many possessions. So getting a rhythm will be difficult and not capitalizing on any of those few drives will be costly.

Yeah not a good start, dropped a sealed container of yogurt putting into the fridge this morning, I proceeded to drop it and it hit the floor and it broke wide friggen open.

Neighbor let me borrow his chainsaw to cut some branches. Didn’t tell me it had sat for like 3 years with gas in it and a bracket was broken.

Not a good start to the day.

We can win this game, Iowa has benefitted from a weak and incompetent Big 10 West for far too long. They have no proven offensive talent and their defense is great but not perfect. Rocco has a great arm, Sama can hit home runs, and Campbell has been so close in most of these games.
You forgot one thing…we appear to have a very average line again. If they can’t open holes for Sama or protect Rocco…it’s could be a LONG afternoon.

If there is one thing this OL can do, its protect Rocco. They have proved that already

I'd love to be wrong, but it's hard to be too optimistic the way this game always sets up. Iowa is disciplined and boring right out of the gate every year. Iowa State is still figuring out who the contributors are going to be, dealing with sloppy mistakes and settling into an identity. If we played this game in November every year I'm confident we'd have a winning record in the Campbell era. The schedule is the 12th man in this game until we start coming out of camp with even a little momentum.

Wow, most on here are incredible pessimists. It's really a tossup and I'd definitely favor ISU without the injury situation. Do you go through life like this expecting the worst always? Have no idea what will happen and won't be surprised by a blow out by either side or a close match. I don't buy the Iowa offense hype based on their game against a glorified community college. Hope for an entertaining game and ISU victory. If not, my tomorrow will be no different.

I think Iowa state knows who its contributors are this year. Most of the team returns with experience from last year.
