During the podcast, it was mentioned that Jay Norvell was a former Iowa State Assistant. His teams were doing a lot of trash talking before the Colorado game and he apparently got into it with Prime. What was Norvell like as a coach at ISU? There was rumors that he was a candidate for the ISU job a few times, but his personality doesn't seem to fit very well for Ames.

@isufbcurt - was he coaching there during your playing days?

Heard CW mention that you want this Arkansas State game to be like the Louisiana-Monroe game a few years back. I would love it if that happens, but i just don't think it will. That ULM team was atrocious (ISU won 72-20.)

These guys from Jonesboro are nowhere near that level of ability and HC Butch Jones is a seasoned football coach. I expect this game to be closer to the Louisiana game a few years back than the ULM one (except ISU still wins this one.)

I think the word now is that he will play. It’s college so who knows but I think he’s expected to

I remember how desperately important it was for me at the start of fall semester to get to that little trailer parked by Beardshear, and plunk down my carefully scrimped hundred bucks for my student season ticket.

Maybe it’s not that way for everyone? Weird.
