I think it's is ridiculous that if Clemson jumps us and that Notre dame is still ahead... Just shows how much they favor big names.

I'm not too shocked with Clemson - since the Georgia ass whooping, they've looked pretty damn good.
I’m not shocked either, but I think there’s a bit of a paper tiger (no pun intended) factor with Clemson. They’ve played App State and NC State since that Georgia game. App State just got rolled on Thursday night by South Alabama. NC State so far this season has been blown out by Tennessee and Clemson and needed 4th quarter rallies to beat Western Carolina and Louisiana Tech.

This is the most important thing. Everything else takes care of itself.
Michigan 12th? That's total BS. Notre Dame shouldn't probably even be ranked IMO. Just dumb.
I read a power rankings playoff post yesterday and Michigan came in at #12. For ****'s sake.
We haven't played any quality teams yet. ;-)
But it matters because unless you win your conference championship the ranking will help determine the other teams that get in. Sitting there at 10-2 and ranked 10th you have a shot, ranked at 18 with the same record and forget it.
Michigan is not the 12th best team when they got completely embarrassed in their own house against Texas. Notre Dame losing to NIU and still being ahead of us is also a joke. We just need to put a beatdown on Houston and keep looking sharp.
