This speaks to me

Well, I woke up Sunday mornin'
With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad
So I had one more for dessert
Then I fumbled in my closet through my clothes
And found my cleanest dirty shirt
Then I washed my face and combed my hair
And stumbled down the stairs to meet the day

This was a hit for Johnny Cash.

In addition to the the number of great songs he wrote, I enjoyed him as the sheriff and corporate man in the John Sayles films "Lone Star" and "Silver City." He could really play the bad guys.

He was more my dads timeline and taste (ie country), but he always liked him a lot. Said "good singer, great songwriter"
