Point of contention:

Our schedule says Central on October 30th.
Central's schedule says Winona State on October 30th.

Who's telling the truth?
FYI, this is settled. Central College vs Winona State is now Nov 3rd. My guess is that game was originally Oct 30, but they shifted things around to make room for ISU and were just slow to update things. We have a game on Nov 4, so Nov 3 wasn't going to work for us.

For one thing, and it's a big thing in my opinion, the league isn't exactly loaded at the top. Texas and Sooners be all gone daddy gone. Baylor ain't Baylor anymore but still might be a wildcard in the race. I can't imagine the coaches preseason picks don't have us in first after the off-season recruiting we had. If Texas was still here I am guessing they would be the nod over us by a few votes.

We'll have three pillars with Crooks, Ryan and Brown, where everyone else fits we'll just have to wait and see. Ms. Crooks has already demonstrated her commitment to improvement so am expecting she will be in even better shape than last year. I doubt anyone out worked her this off season.

We are going to have a really good team but will still not match the athleticism of the #1 seeds. Not like that excludes a title or a possible Final Four. Iowa was out classed athletically per all of the talking heads but made it although some of the players were better than they were given credit. How our coach manages all of this is anyone's guess.

One thing I hope to see is more of is the fun and joy that Crooks brings to the game/team/program. We haven't seen what looks like the true joy of playing the game in some time, maybe since Taylor played. Thought about this some more this summer seeing the pure joy Bridgett Carleton seems to have playing for the Lynx that you didn't see at ISU. Some of that has been introverted players and some of that has been the program culture but I think Crooks may be breaking that.
I am so excited about the depth of talent we have on this team. Crooks, Brown, and Ryan are elite. I think some of the transfers could be really really good too and I expect some growth from some of the other girls that were already good last year. My hope is that CBF doesn’t try to force everything through Crooks. She is obviously our most dominant player, but it can’t all be about Audi. We can expect teams to focus on her, I would like to see us be balanced early in games and force teams to adjust. Audi will be lethal if we can get her one on one matchups. To be special on a national level we need to have some balance.

We have a lot of depth are we going to redshirt anyone? I wondering one of the Freshmen? Minutes are going to be spread out.

Probably not, only because we have only 12 players on the roster. We have so much depth because there's not clear benchwarmers among the entire bunch, but things could go downhill very quickly with a few injuries. Remember 22-23 where we went from too many post players to not enough post players in the blink of an eye?

Reagan Wilson in particular probably needs to get minutes because we have to plan for the future after Emily graduates -- we probably don't want to go into next season with three PGs (Jackson, Wilson, Beaty) and have only one with actual DI game experience. We could probably more afford to redshirt Tanke if she were interested, but again I don't see any real need to do that.

I think what we saw last spring is a preview of this year. It will be pick your poison for opponents.
