No love for the rest of the women on our team. Oh well, guess we'll have to show them.

With a 16 team Conference and only 10 spots on the team it makes if tough to get on. Was a little surprised to see two from KSU and think Van Lithe got on mostly on name recognition. She was not great at LSU last year. Also think Emily Ryan may have a bounce back year.

The question I have is if Lee can stay healthy, which has been a real challenge for her the last couple years.

Well, actually since HS. She redshirted her first year at KSU after knee surgery.

She is in her seventh year at KSU. Redshirt + medical redshirt + COVID bonus year = 7 to play 5.

Dang, seven years. By the time Lee's done at KSU she'll be ready to defend her PhD dissertation.

Well, Lee and Sundell were 1st team 2023-24 so it would be hard to say, in a league that will be missing Booker and Harmon from Texas, that they don't belong. I'm not a big Sundell fan but the coaches do like her a lot it seems.

Agree on Pigtails Van Lithe. Not sure she will be on the 1st team at the seasons end. She's a decent enough player, but is way overhyped.

And, for the record, the coaches picked Ryan as pre-season first team last year but that didn't work out for her.

Well... part of the reason that last year did not work out for her being a first team selection is that she sat out the entire non-conference with injury then was eased back into play with limited time requirements.

Playing at Maples Pavilion against Stanford in the 2024 NCAA Tourney, Ryan showed she can take over a game. She will be honored if she does that often and in big games this year. She had 36 points, hit all her free throws, and 2 steals but didn't need a high assist number as she was doing it herself but can put up great assists numbers.

KState isnt going to win the Conf… Ayoka Lee just has too many injuries.. I will take Crooks anyday over Lee! Sundell is 6-1 which makes her skillset interesting but shes not Rori Harmon or Anything insane

Its going to see how fun Addy Brown is going to expand her game. Its fun we have continued having that Point Forward player after Carlton and Joens really developed that role/leader for the program! Brown im sure will have a Triple Double this season!

To pick KSU over ISU is to ignore ISU's season progression with an incredibly young core. The two Freshman progressed to where they were top 3 and top 10 players in the conference, that's not opinion, just stats. Even their full season stas show them there let alone their monster late season stats. It ignores Ryan coming back mid season, playing incredible in the tournaments and coming back next year. It ignores that ISU beat them head to head and just played better than KSU in both post season tournaments.

Bring it on though, it can only help.

I have zero issue going under the radar, but Addy Brown is another Bridget Carlton/Ashley Joens. Fascinating the Big 12 coaches don’t know this, yet.

I was just looking through her stats and she was probably a top 10 player in the conference as a freshman. Top 5 in rebounding and assists and 15th in scoring.

"Pick KSU over ISU" is not much the disrespect that CF posters seem to want to play up. It was essentially a slight nod to KSU by a few votes. I am not as huge of a fan as many in the Big 12 are of the KSU guards and would have given a very slight nod to ISU but I get the near dead heat in the "vote".

KSU will probably start five seniors. They didn't play great at the end of 2024 but ended up ranked in the teens. A lot will be riding on whether Lee can hold up. Between her knee and ankle she was literally limping through the season.

Neither school has much history in winning the Big 12. Last was KSU in 2007-08 but that was Deb Patterson. Working against KSU is that Mitte hasn't any history of seriously competing for 1st so that's something. He has an overall losing record in conference play.
