What they call the timeout where you can advance ball to midcourt.
Thought so. But they said Minnesota missed the opportunity. Unless they meant NY and I misunderstood.

Didn't see the game, but I see the names of two Big 12 regulars on the boxscore.

So, I'm not surprised to see a bunch of comments about poor officiating.

It was a high intensity game and they were really letting them play - both teams were battered and bloodied by the end. Collier fouled out in OT and Carleton had five - no starter for the Liberty had more than three, so draw your own conclusions.

A pair of really bad calls went NY's way down the stretch - Jonquel Jones stepped on Carleton's foot and fell down for a "travel", but they called a foul on Bridget instead. NY tied it on a phantom foul call for Stewart, which stood even after reviewed.

Even so, Lynx had the ball with 5.2 seconds left in regulation after advancing to the front court. McBride took an open three when she had an open path to the hoop and had been dominating with dribble drives. Her three was a good look but she could have gone to the hole, either making the layup or drawing a foul. She missed and it went to OT.

Courtney Williams inexplicably decided to take over in OT, when McBride and Collier carried the Lynx all game. The ball needs to be in the hands of your best players - didn't happen and NY prevailed. Fun series with a final outcome nobody outside the NY metro wanted to see, but at least people were watching...

I thought Bridget put on a masterclass on defense the entire series and season. She was a big reason for the best Liberty players having poor performances this series. Jonquel Jones grabs on every play, offense or defense. She posts up like a bulldozer. It's not fun to watch and reminds me of the late 80s to early 90s in the NBA, or when Shaq was playing. The WNBA will need to clean this up. Big shout out to the Lynx and especially Bridget for keeping their demeanor during this and also adapting to the way the game was being officiated. They didn't take any of it, they just came up a little short. It was a great season and I'm looking forward to next year!

BC is one tough competitor. That was a physical game. Was not fairly officiated but they got the outcome they wanted. A lot less flopping and whining than college games.

Collier is a great player and took an absolute beating. BC seems to be able to defend any player on the floor. Seems to be a Lynx trait though, they just stick with the switch even if it leaves Williams on a big.

The timeout where the Liberty Coach was heard saying to embellish any contact was more than embarrassing - especially after the the results from the officials.

Why is no one in the media taking about the obvious travel on Stewart at end of regulation. She took at least 4 - possibly 5 - steps after that catch.

Not a word from the announcers during the game while they were reviewing the foul call and this play completely excluded from all highlights after the game.

Meh, that's probably good coaching. On the road, big moment, coaching a large market team where the WNBA has a vested interest in cheating to make sure you win... you give them any reason to blow the whistle and they will.

What is even worse after the review the ref said that Smith was not in a guarding position but it Roy and we know he is terrible,

Cheryl Reeves blasted the officials in the post game press conference - said they need independent review for challenges - no way Roy (or any of the other officials) had the guts to overturn that call in NY.
