With all this new revenue coming into the W, their #1 priority should be firing all of their current refs and finding competent ones to bring in. It's been a problem all season. Like, eye-catchingly amazingly awful refereeing. Bring in the ones from the Olympics, they seemed pretty solid.

They are mostly college officials so get to see their incompetence year round. One of the officials in the game 5 did officiate the Olympics.

Not only did she travel multiple times and the defender was totally in a legal guarding position, but notice Stewart's right toe is back on the ground before she completely releases the ball.

Forearm to face on in bounds, travel before the shot, travel during the shot, and very questionable if there's any contact at all other than perfectly legal body contact.

Then go back and watch Jones play in the entire second half just absolutely trucking everybody.

It was pretty bad. NY couldn't hit a shot all night, they'd have been destroyed in a cleanly officiated game. A lot of it was BC shutting down Ionescu although I have a feeling that's why her offense was so lacking.

Same energy as the Saints-Rams DPI no-call.

Having watched almost every Lynx game this season there are a couple good officials but on some occasions I have seen them get over ruled by the other two very poor ones. What is really sad is to see a bad call then see the coach speak with the official and watch said official seem to agree that there was an error but go right back and mess it up again. Also there is way too many players complaining/calling out they did not foul right to the officials face and no penalty for that. When a player disrespects an official (even if they blew the call) to their face they should get a "T" and maybe that would stop some the issues.

All the publicity about this match up was Liberty focused. Once Clark at Indy went out, they needed a new narrative. Liberty have some bigger names in a larger market for an underdog type of League fighting for relevance.

Whether this played into officiating, who knows. But I’m sure WNBA brass like the story better with Liberty taking the W.

This is the first time the Lynx have lost a Finals series. They were 4 for 4 when making the Finals before this.

There are some disappointed people in Mayo Clinic Square...

I have always rolled my eyes or shook my head when people have suggested "the fix was in" in sports but that was weird. It certainly seemed like New York was gonna win that game one way or another. I cannot understand how 3 referees could miss the travel by Stewie before the foul. She took 6 steps. Very very suspicious ending right down to the commissioner wearing a new York dress.

The Lynx lost the 2016 championship and there was a missed shot clock violation that likely cost them Game 5.

Yeah, I couldn't have been more wrong. I'm not sure what stat I got confused with but they weren't even close to 4-4 before this year.
