Day 10

All players who wear the cardinal and gold are special but the homegrown ones are even more special. From Ankeny, IA Erica Junod who as a soph tore her acl and was on the court 3 months to day of her surgery. Might be one of the most amazing recovery stories ever. She's gone on to be doctor.

I visited with her 1 day down at the deli in downtown Ames between a nen and women's double header. She was kind to visit with a old guy.

"The Cyclones managed to hold Iowa off until Jamie Cavey tied it up at 70-70 with 2:05 left in regulation. The Hawkeyes took their first lead at 1:26 on a Jennie Lillis layup. There were three ties and three lead changes over the final two minutes, but a jumper by UI's Kristi Faulkner with six ticks on the clock would send the game into overtime.

Iowa State struck first in the overtime with a Kriener layup at 4:31, but Iowa would take over the lead at 4:17 on a Faulkner 3-pointer. The Hawkeyes, who led by as much as six, controlled the game until Junod narrowed the gap to 85-83 on a jumper and forced an Iowa turnover on the ensuing inbounds play. Junod fed Medders under the basket to tie the score and Iowa would fail to convert on three shots as time expired to send the game into its second overtime."

I remember Junod tricking Baranczyk into a foul

I do hope whoever does the women’s coverage can type. There are more than enough (too many IMO) feature story audio “podcasts” on the site already. When I look at site content there are other people around and I don’t want to have to wear headphones to take in content. And I can read faster than having to listen to audio. it’s to the point that I just ignore any recorded material. Anyone else frustrated with this?
Boy, do I agree with this. I tried listening to podcasts, but that's just not the way I do the internet. I'm too busy surfing and watching videos with sound to have a podcast droning on in the background, and that's all most of them are ... droning. They think they're being conversational, talking about nothing I want to hear about, until they finally get to why I clicked on the podcast in the first place, and then the insights aren't that insightful or entertaining anyway. And if possible, they've made them even worse with video to go along with the podcasts, so I have to look at their stupid faces while they're droning on about nothing in particular.

Can you tell I hate podcasts?

Not a bad opponent! They are usually a Big Dance Team? Definitely better than some smaller division team for an exhibition game!
