We sit right next to the student section and the empty fireball shooters have rained down all season.

This weekend there was a LOT of uncapped water bottles and I’m sure some people got soaked.

That said, you sit by the students you have to expect a little chicanery and I don’t want anything to happen that could impact student enjoyment. I knew people would complain but I never actually saw a full, capped bottle flying.
This is the key. A capped bottle even if soft plastic like those cheap water bottles has a chance to to some damage. An open one will lose some volume in the air and will evacuate whatever is left on impact.

I am not condoning it but the risk here is minimal.

At my high school we had a girl end up in the hospital after our class threw their mortar boards (graduation caps) into the air. She caught a corner in the eye. Those are more dangerous but my point is that the risk is never zero.

the irony is not lost on me that yesterday our AD sends out a letter asking fans to be more responsible and that alcohol is a problem and then today our official athletics twitter account is doing Bud Light sponsored posts. Oh and for a product not sold to public in the stadium, mind you.

I saw a bunch of full bottles make it down to the field from the upper deck and explode next to workers down there. There was one in particular that I thought was going to dome a photographer but landed about a foot behind them.

If we really want to play a good song, look no further than AC/DC, "Big Balls"

We are undefeated, so why not?

His letter has a vibe of the principle calling a special assembly to yell at the entire school because one ******* pulled a fire alarm.
I was around a lot of the lots on Saturday and thought the atmosphere was awesome.
I'm guessing he had a better idea of the whole scene than your anecdotal experience

Similar to the AD & staff (including Cy) appearing in Iowa Lottery ads at the same time the athletes were in trouble for gambling. Money talks in embarrassing ways.

I won’t tolerate any slander of The Killers (well, ok, maybe a little), but how on earth does a 20 year old song like that suddenly take hold? It seems about as unlikely as a Juicy Wiggle renaissance.

The Killers at the Hollywood Bowl is still one of the top shows I've ever seen.

Please respect my decision

Maybe alternate upper & lower decks in the student section every other game. Either the students would wise up or the fights would be entertaining during the tv timeouts!

We just need a Marlboro ad campaign.

Cy, what do you like to do after an exciting day of cheering on the Cyclones?

I like to relax with the bold flavor of a Marlboro. It has all of the flavor I deserve while it's easy on the throat.

Because I need my voice to cheer our team to victory!

Mr. Brightside has been a certified banger since 2004.

Fun fact: "Mr Brightside" by The Killers has spent over 408 weeks on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, making it the longest-running song in the chart's history. it is the 3rd biggest selling/streaming song of all time in the UK and number one before 2010.

Pretty crazy that an American song is so popular in the UK.
