there was never any hope anyway....JP has stated numerous times as long as he's AD, alcohol will not be sold in JTS.....and it's hard to blame him......seems like around the NFL, there are brawls between fans in the stands occurring every week
I've posted this before, but I attend a couple CU games each year and there are a lot of people who can't handle it. I don't think I've been to a game where there wasn't a fight, and sometimes between their own fans.

One time this punk kid was leaving the stadium and picking fights with every person he passed down the row. He got to the end and this old cowboy stood up and knocked him about five rows down. It was awesome.

I was at the Baylor game and UCF game and noticed the students throw a ton of mini liquor bottles in both games from the upper deck. I know this happens some, but it seemed really excessive. I don't remember this happening this much in the past. One bottle did end up on the sidelines. I know we can get penalized if stuff ends up on the field.

Jamie got 1 email from a Karen and went all out. The crowds have been no different than any past years. Dumb

The same stuff has always been happening but now the student section is surrounded by families, and more importantly donors, on all sides so he's going to get complaints. He talked about getting emails from people complaining about how they hear curse words from the student section LMAO..... get a gripe people.

I obviously don't pay attention to other school's student sections but it seems like ISU prioritizes a lot of things over the students. Or at least is overly cautious with moving them around and further away from the court in the case of basketball, all because donors complain and the potential that the conference will fine us for stuff the students do.
I'm still mad that I can barely see the student section on TV during basketball games...

I can't speak to whatever might be going on in the tailgating lots or non-student sections of the stadium because I don't see that.

I can speak about the student section because I am there standing on the tarmac in front of it for every game. So let me address a couple of things I've seen in this thread...

1) Yes, shooter bottles are frequently thrown within the student section and from the section toward the field. They were thrown throughout the UCF game and have been at other games. They're usually small, plastic, and empty, which from my perspective makes them a nuisance more than a danger. But it remains true that they're not allowed in the stadium and can result in a penalty when thrown to the field.

2) Full or partially full water bottles, multiple of which were thrown beginning after the final touchdown and through the end of the game, are another level. I saw countless bottles thrown from the upper rows of the lower deck and, incredibly, from the upper deck. Some landed in the south end zone and, if the refs had chosen, could have been called for a penalty that would have helped UCF when they still had a chance to tie or win the game.

3) More importantly, some landed dangerously close to workers on the tarmac and sidelines, and some hit students who were in the lower parts of the section. When a full bottle from the upper deck lands on the concrete, it goes SPLAT and flattens out. Now imagine how much it must hurt when one of those full bottles hits someone on the head. I witnessed at least two students in the lower part of the section suffer this. One of them looked very shaken for several minutes afterward, though thankfully she seemed to have recovered later. I am sure many more were hit that I didn't witness.

Students: I see you every game, and I love you. You show up and cheer on this amazing team and bring energy and fun to the game. The vast majority of you are friendly and great representatives of our team, our school, and our fanbase. The atmosphere after that final touchdown was one of the most amazing I've experienced at Jack Trice, and I've experienced a lot.

But please...think about your fellow fans and the dedicated workers, coaches, and players on the field before you do something like throwing a full bottle of water from 100 feet up and making it a projectile.

See you next game. GO STATE

His letter has a vibe of the principle calling a special assembly to yell at the entire school because one ******* pulled a fire alarm.
I was around a lot of the lots on Saturday and thought the atmosphere was awesome.
One "turd in the punchbowl" can ruin things for a lot of folks.

honestly the game I hate going to the most for football games are the CyHawk ones....the amount of absolutely plastered people who make the experience miserable is just not worth it.

People simply don't know how to just drink socially without trying to get blackout drunk.

I sit right next to the students in Sukup and our seat neighbors definitely feed off the students. But, yeah grow a pair. Fans would lose their minds at Chiefs games if vulgarity gets to them

Same with my wife and daughter … they love having the students next to them in Sukup.

How would he know, he was in the SEZ cheering on UCF?

There is zero security in the SW upper deck. So maybe there will be some now? Although one of those hot games, some WDM cops came up to help someone with heat distress, although I think a fan called for help
They responded from wdsm? :)

At the Arkansas PB game sat in the student section w my son. After every touchdown empty shooters fly around the student section. Didn't bother me in the least.

I think that is the problem, people have plenty of gripes.

I have heard "this stuff always happens", but from my seats in the SW corner this is the most stuff (bigger stuff, not airplane bottles) thrown I have ever seen by a long shot; lots of fun but it really can't continue. If Jamie is truly just shooting one across the bow, students better take it to heart or they might not like Jamie's next steps.

Probably would have gotten there faster. Woman was in heat stroke and fans were doing what they could to help. Cops probably came from a more upper crust section than us plebeians.
