CBS put theirs out a few days ago, sorry no link, and had Lipsey at 13. Gilbert and Milan were both in the top 80, I think the iowa player was around 35 but dont really remember.

Having RJ Davis as #2 seems too high. He put up numbers but I wouldn't put him that high in terms of just best players. Flagg is going to be an absolute monster in CBB this year. I think he is one guy this year that could single handedly take a team to the Final Four.

Other thoughts on this list and other player ranking lists. Smith from Purdue is way too high. Nice player, but benefited from having a giant planet on the interior with the gravity pull of a black hole.

Big 12 guard play is really good. Caleb Love I thought improved in Zona. Baylor has great guards and Edgecombe is going to be their next great Freshman guard, . ISU obviously has a three headed monster at guard. I think KU upgraded their guards. Houston has good guards.

He got absolutely clowned at the combine last year. Highly doubtful.
Yeah but he is a volume college scorer. I cant's stand the nerd but when he's on he can fill it up fast. The problem is his +-, defensively he's awful.

I'm NOT looking forward to the game in Iowa City. Iowa is stupid good offensively in that building. We have to force contested shots and not let Iowa get good looks from 3.
Key to the game is honestly the first half of the first half. Survive that and you're in the game the rest of the way. Let them go scorched earth and get down double digits early, you're screwed.

He tried the NBA draft process this year. At the combine he was 0-7 from 3 in 33 minutes of game action. Had a three quarter sprint (whatever that is) that was slower than Zach Edey and only faster than Donovan Clingan. A standing vert of 22 inches, worst at the combine. And a max vert or 28 inches, second to worst. He’s hardly a draftable NBA prospect with those numbers
I don't really NBA much. But its always been my understanding they super value physical skills - vertical, wingspan, size.

The above does not seem to fit into the "the ideal candidate will have" section of the help wanted ad for NBA.

Also, after watching Arkansas, granted it was one game but Johnell Davis made a bad decision going to Arkansas. His offense doesn't fit Davis at all and Wagner and Fland are going to dominate the ball.

I guess I'm not surprised. What a fall he's taken since leaving.
I just rewatched the 30 for 30 "Sole Man" talking about Sonny Vacaro who was able to sign Michael Jordan to Nike, Kobe to Adidas, and almost got LeBron to Adidas as well. There's a portion where they talk about Nike and Adidas pouring tons of money into trying to find the next MJ and it came at the cost of teenage boys who were told they were the next great thing.

IMO, we'll see more than a handful of these types of stories with NIL running rampant.

I guess I wonder more if he would still be an elite talent if he stayed? The world will use you up any way it can but was he really just a flash in the pan or is it more just who is around him?

Two years ago ISU's group also would look like they forgot basketball in a few games when things weren't going well. Dribbling off their legs, passes to nobody, etc.

I expect Iowa to win this year because reasons but I also think this group will have a chance in the last ten minutes of the game at least.

I think we would have developed him. His freshman year was a lot lot Lipsy's, good D, poor shooter. We see how Lipsey improved his shooting, I think (maybe not to the same scale) we could have done the same with Hunter.

It seems like RJ Davis has been at North Carolina for a decade and how old are Caleb Love and the overrated Hunter Dickinson now? 30? Lots of old dudes in college ball nowadays due to NIL. That's my take from this list.

Good to see Tamin get some recognition at 14. Well deserved

I think we break the streak this year but we haven't played well in that arena in quite some time. Won't be surprised if we'd drop it.

Hunter’s shot got a lot better from his FR to SO season. It improved again from SO to JR year. Not as dramatic as Tamin, but Tamin shot 20% from 3 (only making 5 total) his FR year.

Hunter is a decent player and has been relatively consistent. Playing off the ball his SO year was the best thing for him. Limited his “negative” impact such as turnovers. Rodney Terry was the worst thing that has happened to him. Dude is a horrible coach.

Iowa will be up for it. Getting your ass kicked in Hilton then losing in the morgue won’t go well for fran
