A.) It’s week 11, things will certainly change moving forward. If they keep winning, they’ll likely move up

B.) Had we won last week, I’m certain both BYU and ISU would have been in the field during this reveal

C.) If the outcome for BYU is the same, regardless of the committee’s thinking, is it worth getting outraged? I would be right there with you if they had BYU out of the field or gave Boise State that 4th bye
I’m by no means outraged, and couldn’t agree more overacting this early is pointless but just look at BYU VS Miami right now. That’s alarming. BYU beat the 2nd best team in the ACC on the road. I actually think Indiana is good so less alarmed but who have the beat.

Not even a little bit surprising.

Win the conference. Make no mistake, it's the only path.

But keep in mind if Boise wins out and anyone other than an undefeated BYU wins the conference, Boise could very well jump the Big XII conference champ for the 4th bye.

That’s fair. And I could see the argument they should be ahead of Miami

The B12 only chance to get two teams is for both ISU and BYU to win out and then have Miami beat SMU in the championship game. ISU wins the championship in the B12. Miami and ISU get in, BYU with their win over SMU gets in as the 2nd team. Anything other than that, its not going to happen.

The same scenario could occur with K-State or CU too instead of ISU

The problem with BYU at 9 is that both ND and Bama are positioned to leapfrog them even if they keep winning. BYU is grossly under ranked and the committee is making it perfectly clear the Big 12 is a one bid league.
Notre Dame really isn’t positioned to leapfrog with their schedule. And even if either did, BYU would still be in the same position on the bracket.

Edit: or are you saying if BYU loses prior to the B12 championship? Cause yes, if BYU loses prior to the conference title game, they’ll get leapfrogged and the B12 is a 1-bid league

They'll jump when they crush Army if BYU doesn't obliterate Utah, Kansas, and ASU. Not to mention a win at USC will be sold as a quality win.

Think the problem with this thought is using logic and not committee brain seeing the name Notre Dame and losing brain cells.

The problem is ND, they are going to get a bid if they win out. With the B10 and SEC getting 8 teams in, throw in Boise, one bid for the ACC the B12 is only getting one.
So… I’m not sure what would happen but I don’t think it’s as cut and dried if BYU enters the B12 championship undefeated and loses that game.

I don’t have a ton of faith in the committee, but BYU should not be leapfrogged in that circumstance because they had to play an additional game compared to Bama and Notre Dame. And there’s precedent for that. It’s the same scenario as TCU vs Bama in 2022.

They aren’t even being punished for their bad loss… ND can absolutely jump BYU.

If they crush Army they lose that top 25 win. Crushing Navy didn’t help them. And I’m very confident a win over USC will not be painted as a good win. And with this new QB the Tojans could win that game.
