To keep this staff is to accept mediocrity. Campbell will never win 10 games here. He has no killer instinct and does not have a good feel for time/field position that great coaches have. He’s a slightly above average coach with slightly above average talent playing against teams with good coaches or good talent.

Iowa state has not been mediocre, for the most part, since he has been here. So I disagree.

Can he improve, definitely. It's never going to be easy to win 8 or 9 games at Iowa State, reality.

He has definitely been better than the average at iowa state. But even rising to mediocrity is better than the average at iowa state.

Non BCS bowl games are overrated.
Campbell has made ISU relevant. From 1945-2016, ISU had 7 seasons with a winning conference record

Since 2017 ISU has 6, with a 7th likely this year

Oregon (our opponents) were only there because the team ahead of them could not field a complete team.
