A win is a win, but definitely seems like we need to work on clock management at the end of the game in regards to giving the opponent the ball back with too much time left. Cost us the game against Tech and could have cost us tonight (and maybe against UCF? I don't remember how much time was left when they got the ball). I get our red zone offense struggles to score touchdowns but Utah was clearly letting Hansen score there and we could have taken a knee at the 1.
Also this might get some hate but I really don't think Mouser is a good OC. Sure the passing game was good tonight but once again seems like we run every first down and either gain 1-3 yards or lose yards and are behind the sticks. And it's so obvious that running Jackson inside isn't working, anyone with a pulse can see he needs to get the ball in space (see his touchdown against against KU).
I think it's funny posters on here both ate attacking
1) letting it go to the 2 minute warning before a hike
And
2) giving them too much time

These 2 don't got together lmao.

Just review, for future reference…

Dylan Barrett went out. DeylinnHasert is clearly out. Seems like Brendan Black may be dinged up, but is still playing.

So, IOL reserves would be down to James Neal, Jim Bonifas, walkons and true freshmen.

That’s how thin the margins. Almost like linebacker—which at least has people back.

I’ll hope Dylan is back soon…but won’t count on it.
Honestly the defense is doing a great job given the circumstances

The offense needs to be be better.
And we can’t spot teams 7-14+ points a game.

We gave them 17 points off 3 turnovers and still won! If we play a clean game, this isn't a close contest. Here's hoping we've gotten the friggin mistakes from the past 4 games out of our system and play an error-free, complete game against the Purple Kitties.

OU is de-pantsing Bama. thats kind of shocking.
I love it so much they’re celebrating bowl eligibility and knocking off an 8-2 team lol. Losers, god I hate OU. Enjoy the constant mediocrity

I'll change my previous prediction. ISU struggles in the 1st half but claws their way back with Rocco hitting Higgins for a late go ahead TD 27-24. But they leave 38 seconds on the clock and Utah gets down inside the ISU 30 in just 3 plays. With 4 seconds remaining and a shot at OT, Utah trots out former Iowa State commit Cole Becker for a 43 yard field goal and he misses wide left.

ISU 27
Utah 24
Well done my friend!!!

yes it worked out, but to act like that was the plan or a good idea is not right.
Well either the plan is run some clock...in which case you do take it to the 2 minutes warning, or you are thinking we're taking too much time... in which case you want it hiked before 2 minutes.

Posters on here were ******** about both. They are diametrically opposed.

When you need a TD to win I don't think you can get too fancy with clock. Just score it. To many bad things can happen if try to stall and run more plays

Not gonna lay, but I’m pretty down on this team. 9-2 is a great season, but we have not played good football (looking at you offense). Would be amazing to get to 10 wins and a chance to win a championship, but I have a hard time seeing this team beating Kstate. The wildcats are not world beaters, but they are better than Texas Tech for example. If we were playing Tech tonight we would have lost to them again.

kinda sad that this is by far the best regular season ISU has had in like a century and you're "down on this team". yeah, it's been rough, and this game was ass... but a W is a W. the vast majority of ISU teams from years past don't find a way to win this game (including this very team just a couple of weeks ago).
