@BOXIS OLDER THAM ME, DAMMIT!!!
Okay...forgive the typos. That post was after about 12 hours in airports and on planes, AND getting lost ifor 45 minutes dragging our luggage around in the hotel trying to find our room.
My objection stands, tho. @BoxsterCy IS older than me...pick on him!

Theres a massive difference between ******** and people saying we're going to lose/game's over in the second qtr when its only a 1 possession game.
Or before we even have the last drive with 5 minutes left and saying "I've seen this too many times, we're not scoring."

People should be critical but there are certain people who have close to zero faith atleast half a dozen times this season alone.
So what.

These are exactly the types of things crazy fanatics think and say during a game. Literally every single college football game, ever - fans say these things, fans exaggerate, fans get too emotional, fans let their guard down, etc. Iowa State fans the last 20, 30, hell 40+ years - goodness, a mountain of horrible ‘sports’ things have happened to our teams! I think it’s to be expected there’s a lot of pessimism from our broader base.

It’s fine. You’ll be fine, I promise. I also promise literally NEXT game against KSU, you’ll also see these same types of negative/pessimistic comments. Hell, maybe even from the same posters! Or new posters, young and old. All are welcome here. Friendly tip - block ‘em - it takes 0.67 seconds and then you don’t have to see their stuff anymore.

There's probably no stopping it.

But the guy in charge of raising money to keep our players said it is noted and noticed by players and their parents, which is not a good thing. We don't have big money, so we've got to gain any edge that we can. In addition, Rocco's dad is tweeting about the tickets available for the Kansas State game.

So we have a fan base that doesn't like that we have to pay players, but that same fan base won't show up to games with a 7 and 9 win team. And the fan base will also start threads and make posts AFTER A WIN that are very critical of key players.

That’s just copium powder on a really bad butthurt rash.

I haven't watched them much this year and haven't paid much attention to the stuff about their fans but I'm thinking that win last night should have felt way more satisfying to see ISU put them out of bowl contention.

“You know what, our fans on social media are generally positive and knowledgeable” said no major conference player ever. I’m sure it is noticed and talked about, as it is about fans of every major conference team.

If we win out, and tie with ASU and Colorado (all 7-2 and assuming BYU looses), Colorado will be ranked #1 and we will be ranked #2. We win the tie breaker over ASU (tie breaker d, SOS of all conference opponents). If BYU also happens to win out (all 7-2), it will be ASU #1 and ISU #2, again the tie breaker rule d (#4) SOS of all conference opponents gives us the edge.

I don't see any scenario where if we beat K State, that we don't make in the BIG Championship, but post it here if you know it.

If we win, BYU loses, and Tech beats West Virginia, there is a scenario where we don't make it, depending on the results of Baylor and Cincy games

Imagine watching the way players taunt each other on the field and on social media and thinking they can't handle it because CycloneGuy1983 said his QB throws too many pick sixes on a fan message board.

I would defy any athlete or parent to find another fan base in Division I that is appreciably better than ISU's in online lunacy. Which is not to excuse the worst behavior, just that it could be, and usually is, a lot worse elsewhere.

Haven't there been things like death threats in some places?

90% of their fans wanted to join the MWC over the Big 12 when the pac was crumbling. Then when they did join it was “well at least we’ll never lose another game again because we’ll always be 9-0 in the easiest conference”.

Craziest stuff I’ve ever heard.
